5 DAY GROUP BUY, GET IN QUICK!!

Hi all

I have been approached by a company that brings in seecond-hand tyres by the container-load (all "brand-name" stock, no crappy Chinese knock-off's etc) & they are obviously looking to increase their reach. I understand this Group Buy is on pretty short notice but if this one is successful, I should be able to offer the same roughly every 6wks.

Now to make this work, there is a set procedure that needs to be followed. These guys have long-term customers that spend around $10k+ every time a shipment lands & these customers usually get priority over anyone just wanting a set here & there. To get this off the ground they are willing to place me up high in the pecking order but ONLY if I can commit to stock on the spot. Here's how it has to work:

1. You tell me what tyres you want & I pass that request to the supplier.

2. Supplier notifies me when containers hit the dock in Aust.

3. From there you have a matter of days to transfer monies to my account (PayPal will be available for instant payments). I cannot commit to stock that does not have a locked-in buyer. This means no $$$, no tyres.......

4. I will personally inspect every tyre before it is shipped. If I wouldn't be willing to use them on my own car, I won't accept or ship them.

5. If for some reason there are either no tyres in the size etc you want or the ones I look at are not up to scratch, you will have the option of an instant refund or waiting for the next shipment, whichever you choose.

6. Rinse, repeat.

Now as you can see, this involves a layer of trust. If you insist on seeing the tyres before committing to them, either physically or via pics etc, by the time you say yes they will be long gone. Also, you'll probably be able to track these guys down yourself if you look hard enough (as I know a few people have already done) but by doing this you run the risk of all the good stock being gone & fighting over the crumbs.

So there you have it. If you're interested, PM me the sizes & quantities you want ASAP & remember, the more orders I can pass to the suppliers the higher up the Totem poll those orders will sit. Also keep in mind these ARE second-hand, but I've been using these guys for my own tyres for awhile & all the stock that I've seen come in is definately good value-for-money. The "bang for buck" is pretty hard to beat....

Local pick-up is available & for everyone else I am in the process of sorting out a deal for shipping to your door but again the best price is dependant on quantities involved. When placing orders (PM preferred) make sure you include your exact shipping address & a mobile contact to help simplify everything.

:O

265/35/18 x2?

What sort of prices would I be looking at and what sort of brands are available?

Any semi-slicks?

As above

I need 265/35/18 x4 and would consider 255/40/17 x4 At the right price who knows how many sets.

But I need to know prices, an approximate condition of tyres like 50% worn? tread depth remaining? and shipping to Canberra

As Japan does not allow tread depth to go too low, I would assume most of them would be at the Japanese minium tread depth

Hi guys

Sorry for the delay, been otherwise-occupied for the w'end.

As a guide, street tyres start at $80 for 17" & $100 for 18". All tyres are the "known" brands- Dunlop, Bridgestone, Goodyear, Michelin etc etc (no crappy Chinese brands etc unless you actually want them for skids) & tread is usually around 70% of new, give or take.

The semi's are a LOT harder to get hold of second-hand, esp in the sizes we run. 225/45/17 RE-070's pop up prob more than any other as they are OEM on STi's & they work great, but they're a bit on the small side. The guys do try & short-list semi's everytime the head over to inspect each batch before it's loaded etc but the bigger sizes just aren't around. IF there's enough demand & IF it's economically viable, I'll look at taking orders to bring in BRAND NEW semi's in batches. Stay tuned....

For all you guys above, PM me your mobile numbers along with exact shipping addy's & once I know more (should be Wednesday) I'll give you each a call.

Im keen on some semi-slicks to fit the standard 32 GTR rims (225/16/50), not too picky on brand aslong as they perform..

cheers Tomek

No probs Thomas, PM me your mobile # & I'll give you a call

f**k jsut saw this.

i havnt had any luck anywhere else but let me know if you have any sort of 19" drag radials.

cheers

Andru I'll get some prices for new 19" semi's but my guess is you'd be better with dedicated 15" M/T's etc for the strip. You'll only need 'em for the rear so brake clearance etc shouldn't be a prob.

My experience in drag-racing is with bikes & Nitro cars so not exactly directly relevant to what you're looking to do but there are plenty of guys on here that can point you in the right direction I'm sure.
