'help' Tyres For 03 Coupe [19'']

Recommended Posts

Hi, can anyone give me the correct tyre sizes for 19''s, there going on a 03 coupe and the new rims have arrived, front 19x8.5 [22 o/s]. rear 19x9.5 [30 o/s]. Ride hight is STD at the moment, will wait and see what it looks like first before I consider a drop, I will be wanting a moderate drop only, any idears on springs would be great! [Tein H/Techs or STD 350z springs] looking at about 15-20mm drop. In the US they talk about tyre sizes [for the above] either 245x35x19 or 245x40x19 front. and 275x35x19 or 255x40x19 also 265x35x19 rear. They say that these sizes are close to the correct rolling Dia, not shaw! Any idears guy's Thanks G.T. PS. Also any rec'os on tyre brands.

factory 19" optional rims have these tyre sizes I believe: Fr - 225/40R19, Rr - 245/40R19

Has the car been complied and registered (ie passed RWC and/or vicroads/RTA inspection) ?

If not yet best is to stick to that factory sizes above and make sure the compliance workshop have the 19" sizes on the tyre placard just to save you trouble.

if you're thinking to swap it, those tyre sizes above can fit onto the 8.5 & 9.5 wide rims but probably at the maximum limit. 225/40R19 is still good for front 8.5" rims as it's only 0.5" wider, but rear 245/40R19 might look a bit undersized as your new rims will be 1.5" wider at the back than std.

You can get either 235/35R19 or 245/35R19 for the front which is close to rolling diameter, and for the rear you'll need to get 265/35R19 or 275/35R19... but again if you wanna keep within the legal limit above the standard factory/dealer tyres, I'll suggest to take 235/35R19 & 265/35R19 as these are within 1" wider than the maximum tyre available/allowed on the vehicle. 245 front might work but I personally don't like the front to be too wide as it may make the steering a bit heavy on low speed and also the tramlining effect is increased on bumpy surface or in the rain.

PS: not much tyres available in those sizes, but I found probably Bridgestone RE050A is available in those sizes, also Yokohama V103 available as well in those sizes. Price is about $300-350 each...
