Along with checking the manifold flange for flatness, the t4 twin scroll gt35 atp housing I received had a lot of loose sitting slag deep inside the scrolls (out of sight). Worth thoroughly checking for the sake of the exhaust wheel.

Is Sabbadin Automotive is doing the mechinical work for you?

Yes, we had the car transported down to Melbourne into Robs trusty hands for the engine build and to oversee the whole project.

I'll make a note of checking that. The turbo is supplied from Full Race so I'm unsure if they are they same as ATP's?

More pieces coming in, it seems like it never ends...

The calculations we did for the new engine require an extra Bosch 044 and 1000cc injectors, so time to spend some time upgrading the whole system.

We have decided that the Tial MVS wastegates will not be water cooled (interested to hear peoples thoughts on this though), and that the run in tune will be 11psi with normal boost being set at 23psi. Interestingly the Tial MVS runs 3 springs to make the desired boost pressure, as compared to the usual one or two.

New fuel system. One 044 with the standard pump acting as a lift wasn't going to cut it. Now twin 044 and a dedicated low volume lift pump to reduce heat build-up in the fuel. E85 Ready too ;)

We have hit a hurdle lately with the wiring that has stopped the dash/heater controls/windows/speedo to stop working. (If only i could fine a body harness wiring diagram!!! ) If anyone has had anything similar please by all means let me know, as the issue is causing the alternator to stop charging and thus the car is basically unusable. We have tried several auto-elecs to help out with the issue but nobody seems to be willing to take on the challenge. If anyone knows someone that can lend a hand, please pass on my details to them.

Finally got the car back in Sydney, the car has peformed very well and I'll try to go through all the stuff we have done over the last few weeks.

Needless to say, a severe lack of traction all the way to fourth gear, so some new sticky rubber will be the next thing on the list.

Looks the goods Dale, where did you get the polished fuse box cover? Do you guys sell them?

I bought it from the UK through a guy who made some in his spare time and sold them on eBay. Not sure if he is still doing them though.

We made some carbon fibre ones for a while, but they didn't sell very well.

    • Did a little bit this afternoon and pulled the dump and turbo off so I could take the mani off to clean it up and give it a few coats of paint. Wire wheeled what I could get to and then got the sand paper out to get the tight spots. Gave it one coat so far, will do another two tomorrow and see if I can fit it in the oven to bake it for an hour along with the adapter and dbw.  Hoping the exhaust wrap I ordered turns up soon so I can wrap the dump and screamer. Ordered 30M so I'll wrap back as far as I can to help a little with temp next to the box and also the floorpan.
    • Yeah I think overall I’m running the expected power I should be running for now and I’ll just enjoy it for the time being until I get some other parts. Thanks for the advice mate I appreciate it!
    • That's fair enough.  Might be time to just enjoy what you have until you sort the ecu/flex sensor situation. You can pretty much guarantee that you are knock limited and e85 is going to be the solution to more power.
    • He didn’t provide that info to me but I think I’m on standard timing. And no we don’t have e85 on the petrol stations here but it’s widely available here from shops. I’m just planning on getting a better ecu before switching to e85
    • Seems bang on to me , g30-900 will make 900 crank on e85(on paper). Deduct ~25% for 98 and you are at 675 crank. Run that to the wheels and fact you are only running 26psi you end up about your number.  People forget how magic E85 is now that just about everyone is running it.   "Back in the day" you had to be north of 30psi on a 850+hp turbo to get 600 at the wheels on 98.
