Guys,

Finally after a shitload of mucking around. the 25 and matching box is in.

Now the wiring, yay! (end sarcasm)

I currently have both ecu pinouts for rb20 and 25, is that all i need?

Anything else that could be of any use?

Any helpful tips anyone wanna share?

Cheers,

Dan

well you need to find out which wires coming from your body control module are for tacho signal, temp sender signal, oil light signal, ecu power supply and i cant quite

rememeber if you need one for injector power too, i fit my engine myself but my old boss did my wiring and i didnt pay too much attention to it, all i know

is i have the basics hooked up to make the engine run and not give me any hassles

hope that helps in a way

when i wired the 26 into the rb20 cefrio all i had was the pin outs for the 26 and the 20 ecu, and a wiring diagram. just label all of the wires coming out of the rb20 ecu which go into the car loom (as opposed to the engine loom) and then match them to the wires which go into the corresponding pinout of the 25 ecu. i am not too sure if the tacho wire from the 25 runs the same voltage as the cefiro rev counter. you also have the two green relays which just feed power to injectors and ignition,(dont quote me on this, i cant quite remember, it was over a year ago i did this) which you just connect to the engine loom. not too sure about weather the 25 needs a seperate resister for each injector, but the 26 needs a loom made up for it, which is wired through the loom which goes from one head light to the other and sits over by the battery. look for a wiring diagram, it helps shit loads. just label everything and start at one point and try and not get too confused by it all. good luck, it is hard to try and get any help on this, i think because not too many people have done it and those that have like to keep it too themselves. dont be afraid to ask, i will try and help as much as possible.

Pretty much what bradA31 said.

If you've got your original loom, trace the wires that go to the body loom connecter back to the ecu, check the pin number against the RB20 pinout and label it accordingly.

Then locate the same item on the RB25 pinout, find the corresponding wire on the RB25 loom and connect that wire the body loom connector in place of the original RB20 wire.

As far as I can remember there aren't that many wires on the body loom, just enough to run the instrument cluster and things like ignition on.

Shouldn't need to change much else since you'll be using an RB25 ECU and RB25 engine.

Except maybe things like powersteering reservoir connection, windscreen wipers..

Care to share that wiring diagram at all? I've not been able to find a Ceffy wiring diagram anywhere on the internet and it's getting annoying.

i have a rb25 wiring diagram and a r32 gtr wiring diagram, both are very similar just the pin outs are different, i think a cefiro wiring diagram would be almost impossible to find unless you can read jap. you dont really need a cefiro wiring diagram just a ecu diagram. from wales i see, rhyder? londidron wels? swansea? do you have a fax? give me a pm if you need some help with wiring, the cefiro must be unbelieveably rare over there. how about swindon and its magicical roundabout? not in wales but still very magicical.

I can probably find an R32 diagram, those things are hardly rare in the UK though I might take you up on that offer if I can't.

My engine swap is a few years down the line when my insurance history is a little less horrid, I'm mainly after the ceffy wiring diagram for other smaller projects in the meantime.

I'm in the valleys near Caerphilly and Merthyr Tydfil, and yes Ceffys are rare over here, a few people on Driftworks have imported them (for drifting, obviously) I've never seen a single one on the road and I do a lot of miles all over the UK. There's a good chance I'll have the only 4WD Ceffy when it finally arrives. Fortunately I live just down the road from a local garage that specialise in 180SX's and Skylines and have done a few RB26 engined S13s and the like, so it just depends on how different the wiring is.

And yes I know that roundabout, though there is a worse version of it in Hemel Hempstead that has 6 mini roundabouts instead of 5. They work quite well because if you go around it backwards you get right of way over all the people going around it in the normal direction thus giving you an advantage over tourists who don't know it.

I regularly modify looms for SAU members and this includes several RB25 conversions for Cefiros. The RB20 loom is very similar to that found in the R32 skyline so you can at least use the pinout for same.

If you would like someone to wire the loom to suit don't hesitate to contact me. I wire up everything to give as close to factory functionality of the RB25 as possible, this includes AAC, FICD, VCT, air regulator, AC, boost solenoid etc. The most popular loom conversion I do is for members dropping an R33 series 1 & 2 RB25 into an R32 skyline.

Cheers

Hi Ben, What our local Nissan expert Joe Nissan West Auckland did with my Cefiro to Neo conversion was He got the 2 engine looms and merged the 2 looms to make 1, You would think my loom was done at the factory, So really you do need the cefiro loom to as the engine wiring under the dash is totally different and wiring in the engine bay is needed out of the cefiro loom for the battery fuse box ect and there is a lot needed out of the neo loom ecu, engine knock sensors , other sensor ect, So the best advice i can give you is take both the looms to an expert and get them to make one out of 2, mine cost me 450 nz fitted , that was 4 years ago, hope this helps you, Jamind
