Help.. Cant Adjust Coilovers

ive got G4 coilovers atm, im trying to adjust the ride height from the base of the coilover (circled in red)

ive undone the locking ring circled in red but i cant turn the bottom shaft of the coilover, it seems to have seized due to all the road gunk & dirt etc etc getting inside, ive tried RP7, WD40, silicon spray and still with no luck.

any ideas?? (apart from changing different brands lol)

should it best be adjusted when bolted into the car (top & bottom) or with the bottom bolt removed?

try locking the 2 top rings together

put the bottom of the shock where it bolts to the hub into a vice ( using soft jaws )

using c spanners on the rings locked together to turn the whole shock

yeah im trying to do it whilst on the car without removing it. its a real b*tch in a 33/34 to remove the rear suspension lol

i had a similar problem with my d2;

the way i got them to finally move was to spray air into the area (used a compressor)
