Hypergear Turbochargers and High flow Services Development thread

Recommended Posts

Another result to share, this time from one of our high flowed R33 GTST 21U Turbochargers externally gated on a built  Rb25det engine. Car made a super responsive of 330rwkws @20psi on E85. Full boost by 3500RPM with very wide power band.

Forged R33 Rb25det engine, ported engine head.
HyperGear High flowed R33 GTST turbocharger
SpeedTek exhaust manifold
Turbosmart 45mm external gate
ID2200 Injectors + Twin Bosche 044 pump
Programmable ecu
3 inches turbo back exhaust
Tuned at Chequered Tuning

Looking forward to see it perform at Vic drift Round 3.

I did some SR stuff in 2014. if you go back to page 456 and read from there, that contain alots of SR20det's developments. On page 1, search SR20, and I have listed pages that contain SR20dets developments and results.

Just road tuned my R33 with an ATR45SS. Pulls pretty damn well at 16psi. Z32 MAF shows 4.77v at that boost and the 875cc injectors are at 60%. All on 98RON. I have a walbro 485 pump ready to go in for when i decide to go E85.

Great videos to shared from VicDrift website. I've seen few of customers cars made to the final battles. That is Cam Martin's silver R33 GTST running our high flowed 21U factory turbocharger making 330rwkws, White R31 Wagon using one of our ATR43G3SAT CBB turbocharger making 310rwkws and Just Gurener's purple R33 running one of our ATR45SAT CBB turbocharger making 400rwkws.

Are there any results for the ATR45SS on an RB? I'm tossing up between the ATR45 CBB and ATR45SS CBB. Tao what would be the expected difference in lag and power be between the two? Both external gate on a proper manifold on a 30DET.
Hi Xr pilot. I recently installed one of hypergears atr45 .82 billets on my rb30det. Stock block stock head stock cams etc. On bp98. Had a waste gate issue which lost alot of mid range power and torque but still managed 375kw. E85 would see a great improvement over 98 also. I have uploaded a graph from my run. Keep in mind this is with no vct so there is alot left in it. Also rev limiter was set to 7000rpm because of stock motor. Graph shows that extra revs more power is easily do able. Trent from chequred said it was hard to stop it making power at 7000rpm as it just wanted to keep climbing. Hope this helps. 20180327_225537.jpg

Overall a decent result.

Be interesting to see the boost curve with this one.

I'd say that no VCT is a big cause of the relative torque deficit across the 2500-4500 range.

Torque peaks at 5500 then starts dropping, so power has peaked before 7000. Not sure why the tuner says it will make more hp with more rpm.

Hope he pointed to the saw-tooth shape of the graph over 5000.  Might be worth investigating timing scatter, see if that needs to be addressed.  Not uncommon to pick up 10-15kW by fixing those issues.

Saw-tooth area is just topical hub dyno being sensitive to any reactions. Every hub dyno graph iv seen all have it from various tuners. There is next to no timing up top from what I was told as it was having an issue with creating boost when timing was added up top. As already having a huge boost creep issue already it was left at that. Cam duration is most likely also an issue on the torque side as there just stock cams from a r32 s0 rb25 so exhaust cam lift is actually smaller then stock rb20 which are tiny already.

Colour me befuddled.  What use is a power curve that looks like that?

That would be the result of the loose converter, so it’s not real. No way would that be of any use if the car was a manual.

As mentioned that's an result of high stall auto. this car run 9.9sec quarters on 578rwkws with similar power curve using an BW S400.  It would be useless if that is an manual curve.

This might be interesting. our TD06SL205 in 10CM running against a 2018 model Ebay (Not kando but a someone sales rather similar) Billet 25G TD06 10CM. Ebay turbo lasted few dyno runs before running into issues and the owner decided to do a core change so he can completes the dyno tune.

I don't think ban and block buyers for warranty claim is a good business practice,  having a pissed customer is at least, most importantly the data of why and where a product can be improved is lost.

Green is our TD06SL205 and Red is Ebay

This is fantastic data mate! Would be a much faster car with your turbo compared to the eBay setup.
