Who Has Kitted Their V35

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Thinking about getting a kit for my V35 unsure which one. Just wondering if anyone would be willing to share some pics of their kitted V35s and experiences on where they got the kit from, fitment etc.

check www.japanparts.com

Plenty of kits from ING, Nismo, Ken Style etc..

Not cheap though. IMO if you had 4-5K to spend on a full kit + paint and fitting, you would be better off getting a nice set of Jap 19s first. The coupe lines already looks good from factory.

from carmate. Lots of problems fitting. But it's finaly on and looks ok

same kit as the ugly orange V35 in Fast & Furious 4. "Kenstyle" copy

Holden VY fog lights should fit the KS kit

So the fitment from carmate was pretty average?

Kenstyle isn't my taste, neither is the black X metal.

Just want something clean, perhaps the Ings or Impul. As for spending 5-6 K on rims don't think i'll be doing that. I've been down that path before and although yes it is nice to have work wheels etc.. But you can pick up some light weight racing rims in good sizes, 19 x 9 +22 and 19 x 10 +28 for 2K. I wont be taking it out the track or anything anyway.

They had to cut and patch the back bumper to get it to fit

IMO the ING and Top Secrect kit looks nice, simple, and makes the car sits flush. also not expensive (if it were the replica). other than that this would be the kit id put on my car :P

+1.

I want to know what brand can get 2k for 19' lightweight. That is a really good price even for 2nd hand.

My 18' NISMO LMGT4 cost me 2900 with noise second hand bridgestone.

Yeah these came up at a good price, still not sure if I will get them though. These rims are 11.2kg (fronts) and Work Meisters and BBS LMs are 10.9kg in the same size and width. So they aren't as light as Japanese rims but not what I would really call heavy either. In the end it’s not going on the track etc so I really doesn't bother me. I know for some people having light rims etc is an essential and that’s great Work, BBS, SSR etc look fantastic, but for me I only want to buy new and they just aren't in my budget.

how is it "simple", when it is MIXED up and looking AGGRESSIVE + LOW?

i thought when it says simple, it means more towards vip, less aggressive and 'normal-low'?

Or did i mis-understood? :)

it will look agressive for the fact the car is very low.

it will look simple for the bodykit does not have excessive or any for that fact holes, etc. to make the car look different

its kinda going for a vip look as you said.

dont worry u shall see in the near future. allready have 2 parts just waiting on the 3rd part once someone gets back...... then i can get it all prepped and fitted.

i want to respray my car black too... but i hate the fact of the swirl marks, so i might stick with a sort of darker silver / grey

    • Agree about euros.  Pulling apart is so much quicker than putting back together. Made worse when it's been a while and you can't remember everything. Any modified part seems to always be a pain to reinstall too and complicates things. There's not too many mods on my car but those that are caused difficulties. Simple things like the radiator that should just drop in, needed some finesse and additional time to manoeuvre in, same with oil cooler plumbing, head drain etc. Simple things seemed to want to fight me the whole way. Stupid standard intake plenum didn't help either. After nearly finishing everything, I saw the 2 knock sensor plugs and cold start valve plug hanging there. Was able to contort my hand enough and looking at an internet pic of valve, was able to just get the plug on and seated. Front knock sensor was similar, the rear however I can't even see. Going to have to remove starter motor to create access. FML. I've consumed that many cans of V in the last few work sessions that I should get a sponsorship. edit, I did the same with the mic and bore gauges. Spent many hours, it's one of those things that you get better at and more confident the more you use them.
    • For me a few things compounded the issue.  - Wanting to learn a few aspects, such as hand lapping valve seats (10hrs-20hrs) - Wanting to balance the rotating assembly down to 1g on cast parts, (15hrs easy) - Not knowing this wack FWD platform, 10hrs to remove to remove the subframe/engine etc - Having never used mic or bore guages etc, thinking I was doing it wrong, finding out 2 rods were oval and I was correct (10hrs easy).  And the list goes on, each shed session was 60-90mins so it takes a lot of them On the contrary, when I sold the CA/Box/ECU it was 3hrs to remove, split, put on a pallet solo having never done it before.  This is the reason that the XR5 will get sold and I will go back to a JDM daily. Euro stuff is painful to work on.
    • Hold your horses, it hasn't run yet. Fingers crossed,Lol Was thinking about this the other day, could of just paid someone 10-15k and not had to touch anything. My body and hands are sore AF. I understand why people just pay, it's not an easy task to do at home and a hell of a lot of work. Wife says I should have cut my losses and got rid of it. Told her to wash her mouth out with soap.
    • That sucks about the pipe.  Life loves to bend you over sometimes.  Catch can idea seems sound to me.
    • Hi all, Enjoying learning about my new C34. Question for you experienced folks about wind noise. There seems to be a some around the A pillars. But for me, I think there's also some air leaking around the driver's window by the B pillar (e.g. right in my ear). Is this normal? It becomes significantly noticeable as you get up to 120kph. It gets louder as you add speed. The door seal is soft and in one piece. No rips or tears. The window appears to be seated properly. I am missing the external air deflector on the A pillar. Thoughts? -Kip
