stoopid EMO failvia.....

something very broken in front left wheel hub area... epic shuddering and crap under brakes so only ended up getting about 10 laps in all day :D Mustered out a 1:10 which is 3 secs quicker than previous PB, but not my sub 1:10 i was after..... Hopefully once the car can brake normally, get a decent alignment, a sub 1:10 is in order!

Bloody awesome day, seeing everyone with grins from ear to ear, makes it all worth while!! Overall it seemed to run very smoothly. everyone seemed to be well behaved and fun was had by all x11ty!!

I even had the boys in blue pull me over for a 'chat' on the ride height and DB's.... that just topped off my day to a T...

All in all well done to everyone, Chubbeh in the MXfail with 1:16's.. Clapa doing the V8 boys proud with a great 1:12 and the rest of the peeps that were out there having a blast!!!

Bring on SAU Track Day - Round 2!!

Beer Time

Awesome day guys, another big thanks to all the organisers.

Huge thanks to Dan as well for actually showing me the correct lines compared to what i thought were the correct lines. Really helped mate! "Turn in late, later, later, later - NOW"

Ando, i think you're epic shuddering was contagious. I had no drama's all day, until i slowly hit the brakes for the first time on the way home. I'm hoping it's a warped disc or 4 (feels like it). But i think i also felt shuddering on deceleration. I'm hoping it's my imagination.

The car held up great all day, but def need decent tyres and suspension.

Well thanks everyone for coming and thanks for behaving yourselves. I'm glad you all had fun, sux about the few that had troubles, myself included in that. Fatz ghetto coilpack fix saved my day. I couldn't seem to push out any better than a 1:09.6 today but I had fun nontheless. Ando you are going to get that car into the 1:08's, I'm sure of it.

Thanks Dan for you help - sux about the failboat. Cheers for the beers too, onto number 3 now and feeling a little better although Cali is still working at cooking me dinner.

Duncan, a world champion as usual. Spent all day helping people. Thanks mate.

Chubbs good work on flags and scruitineering. Pity about the car...

Everyone who helped out on the flags from time to time, thanks.

The weather - thank you god, I have never been to a more perfect Wakefield day.

And lastly David... just lift off a bit mate.. lift off... BRAKES... BRAKE... PUT YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE!

No probs :D . Happy to help, a glad it worked Genelle. Hope all went well in the end.

Thanks SAU for a great time!!

Being a track 'neuby', I'm glad I finally had a chance to take the beast out to a track day.

I was all over the place and chewing up my brakes and tyres, but eased up on the wear and tear once Benm came onboard for a few laps.

Thanks very much for the tips and patience!

Car held up okay, and I spun off a couple of times lol (damn turn 1!).

I went through a front set of new project mu's 400deg pads in 3 sessions, had the bendix ultimates as back up luckily!

I got timed on my last session with the 18's and street rubber, and rear wheel drive lol. Got a 1:23, with a best of 1:12.

Good to see some new faces too, well done everyone!!

Pics to come...

    • Can't forget them. Have spent the better part of the last 2 years in Bunbury. Any longer and I would have to get one of each.
    • Hit it hard last night, was in the shed till 2:30am. Had to get everything ready to try fit engine today as neighbour is going away tomorrow. This happenned today      Was going smoothly, till it wasn't. Had to lower the sway bar, remove engine mounts to get the engine to its spot and then refit everything. Head drain also created some clearance issues but got there in the end. Some idiot put the drain return on the sump virtually where the engine mount is. Hose fits on but is less than ideal, going to have to revisit it and fit a 90° fitting. Had some hiccups last night too with getting the flywheel and gearbox on. Firstly forgot the sandwich plate, so had to remove clutch and flywheel again. Then gearbox went on smoothly but then realised new block has an alignment dowel in the same spot as gearbox. GB off again to remove said dowel. Cnut. Anyway, it's in now. AC and PS pumps refitted, tail shaft bolted up as well. Left to do is reconnect all harnesses and plugs. Looks like a big mess ATM. Fit dump pipe, radiator, shifter, intake piping and associated bits, air box fill, afluids and hopefully fire it up. Looks like couriers please has lost my break in oil again. Useless pricks. Looks like I'll just get whatever mineral oil is on special at super shit auto. Hopefully it will actually run after all this or I'm going to burn it, lol.
    • The genuine ones are a minimum of $95 each on amayama. Jesse Streeter just quoted me $190 each. I can get a set of 6 MSD for $470 on ebay.
    • You forgot jet ski's and neck tatts.
    • New Monroe OESpectrum shocks for the Honda have been ordered, the car actually handles well with the OEM shocks, but from pulling the wheels off for a good inspection of the brakes and bushings, the only issue I saw was that it still has the original shocks, and with 160k km on them they are well past their use by date Also, in other "kids these days" news, the airbox resonator is "in the bin", a little more induction noise down low free reving, but it sounds really good (growly) over 4k RPM on the road, worth while silly mod for 10 minutes of work and zero dollars Also the K&N filter for the OEM airbox arrived, whilst I didn't get it for performance, as it probably doesn't give any, it's more to save a few bucks replacing OEM filters every service, 3 filter changes and it has paid for itself I also picked up another 5 litres of HPR5 for another oil filter and some more engine flush, I'll give the last HPR5 and filter change 1k km to do it's thing then flush it all out again and stick the new stuff in, anal, but I feel it's always worth the effort when I get a "new old" car to really clean out its guts, and as the K series engines have a few internal mesh filter screens for the V-Tec thingie, as well as the usual one on the oil intake tube, it's preventative maintenance to keep the oily bits happy when I'm wringing it's neck The Bogan Cruise Ship might even come out from undercover this weekend for a cruise, weather permitting of course
