Surprising to hear. I had an excellent experience with him as have many others I know. Sucks to hear you had such a rough experience. Just curious, what car did you buy?

Compliance shops certainly make things difficult sometimes, with some companies not actually being able to comply certain models so they send it to a different shop and just slap handling fees + profit margin ontop of that.

Yeah my delays weren't caused by the shop itself, they were actually excellent. It just took forever to receive the purple compliance plate, and then the RMS/RTA put a hold on the cars registration pending a random inspection. So many hoops to jump through...

I know what you're saying though. An already painful process can be exacerbated in a big way by an inept workshop.

I should have read this thread before dealing with Ben. I am not in the process compliance to my car with Jeep Autoworx in Perth.

I think Jspec Imports service has gone to  ....Very friendly and accomodating at first, but once they have your money communication is very poor. Just like every business I guess.

My car has been in the compliance shop fro almost 2 months now and still waiting for approval? His recommended TopSecretImports invoiced me already for a job that not approved yet, I am requesting a refund and they are refusing to do.

Used Ben at J-Spec, service was mostly good and I did appreciate him being honest about cars condition and he did mention his opinion on cars that are not good enough to import even though I had a chance to get things over and done with so I did appreciate his advice on advising I wait for the right car to come by.

I do feel there is a smaller but significant element of - hey if things go good, cool.  If not oh well who cares get on with it.
