not happy jan

can you imagine spending $600,000 and receiving this notice

this was on the lambo website

Murcielago Recall / Campaign information

Campaign number 02 v 082 - April 2002

Date: 3/29/02

Vehicle: 2002 Lamborghini Murcielago - Steering Shaft Coupling Clearance

-----------------------------------------

Automobili Lamborghini S.P.A. has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in early production 2002 Murcielago models.

The lower steering column shaft coupling could seperate from the input shaft of the lower steering rack assembly becasue the steering coupler was not properly inserted onto the steering rack input shaft. This could cause the driver to lose the ability to control the vehicle resulting in a crash and possible occupant injury.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE UNTIL YOUR AUTHORIZED DEALER HAS DONE THE INSPECTION.

DO NOT DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THIS CAMPAIGN DONE, HAVE IT TOWED FOR SAFETY.

Vehicles affected

Lamborghini Murcielago, model year 2002

VIN: ZA9BC10U72LA12049 to ZA9BC10U92LA12104

jimbo, have a look at the information in www.lambocars.com or www.lamborghini.com

when you get to see the beast in the flesh it grows on you but from behind it still looks very Audi

all we are waiting for are some "rice" options kits etc

    • If im following along correctly. You purchased a low k'm stock bnr32, fitted some wheels I will assume they are a square set of wheels and tyres eg same width and offset and tyre size front and rear, if they are square then you haven't change your handling from factory but have more grip. You fitted some coilovers and wound them lower now have more negative camber and a firmer ride with less body roll. Now if you want sway bars this will bring in the oversteer understeer choice. A larger stiffer rear swaybar by it's self will cause more oversteer, how much effect this will have will depend on your coilover spring rates, If you feel like your car understeers right now and you don't like it a aftermarket rear swaybar might be what you need. I would recommend fitting front and rear swaybars with adjustable ends to keep a more balanced setup and can be fine tuned by moving the end links in different holes.
