Hey guys just wondering what pod filter i should get for my r34 gtt, and also do i need anything else apart from the pod filter to go with it? Much apprecitated.

I have the apexi power intake pod filter. It seems to get good ratings.

Although, my car came with the pod already on there.

If you are putting a pod on for noise reasons, louder turbo spool and so you can hear the stock blow off then fine. But if you are doing it purely for power dont worry about it.

Sorry to ask, but are you saying don't put a pod filter on for power? Or am i misinterpreting?

haha did i not post that right at the top.

basically the airbox is fine till you start replacing the turbo etc. even then its not always a big difference.

but if you want to hear the turbo then they are fantastic

just getting my head round it. i'd always thought they were a performance addition, not just for sound and looks. i've been told by random mates that clean air to the intake manifold can add like 5% (eg: pod filter and fairly straight piece of 3" pipe)

A pod without a shield will just suck hot air from the engine bay giving you less power, your better of using a good quality filter in your stock air box.

But if your fully sick then physics doesnt mess with you.

 Or you could buy this complete genuine beauty good cond HKS kit for a mere $60 + $15 Expresspost P&P if you can't pick it up. :D

They could be talking about other cars with crapper airboxes. I know my old commodore loved the pod filter over the airbox, although i did have it mounted under the guard for heat shielding as well. It was also a 4" pipe with 4" super long pod hehe. The commy airboxes are crap though.
