Hey everyone, New to the site and Im pretty keen on buying an r34 gt-t. Just wanting to know a bit more about them, but im mainly interested in the computer, what can be done with the stock one as far as tuning goes? can it be re mapped like the subaru wrx ecu's can? do they have any safety features built into them? (ie boost limit and such) or is it just better to get an after market comp? Im not looking to be the fastest guy on the street, Just a car that can thow you back in the seat when you want it to but still be pretty good and reliable as a daily. Cheers

Get a nistune board put it, so you can edit and log your tune is the cheapest and the best as you retain your factory ecu.

A good feature is the knock map, this map will override the map you have your car tuned on.. if knock is present, just has a duplicate map that has 4deg of timing take. Out across the board good safety feature

+11ty for Nistune - best ECU option for the majority of mods out there, but still a great option for turbo upgrades etc.

you keep all the factory goodness like cold start, knock sensors etc but have full live tuning functionality as well and most places can tune these too, and they're not that expensive either

so in terms of safety features, it's better than a power fc etc... but the tuner would be your best safety feature by far.

i'm running a Nistune and E85 or BP98, no dramas at all, great bit of kit
