...P.S does aircon cause ur car to eat more petrol? i thought it was cause u had to drive it a bit harder because the aircon takes away soem power, am i wrong?
It's arguable. I think the theory is that, with A/C on, the car has better aerodynamics, because the windows are up. Windows down disrupts the air flow over / around the car, increasing drag.

If the windows are closed, then driving with the aircon on will take away power, hence u need more accelerator to get up to the same speed... So it uses more fuel. But if you are driving with the windows down as opposed to using the aircon with windows up then yea, you would use more fuel if the windows are down due to increased drag/interuption of laminar flow.
