How To Remove/bypass Speed Limiter/governor/lock For V36?

Recommended Posts

Hi, as most of you know, any car imported from japan will have a speed limiter/governor/lock which limits the car top speed to merely 180-190km/h only. As most of you also know, our car can do much faster than that :)

Which bring me to my question, how do you bypass/remove the speed limiter/governor/lock for my V36? Is there any other way other than reflashing the ECU?

I've done this to my old V35 using FSC (Fan & Speed Controller) HKS delimiter and it work..Is there any similar bypass for V36? Maybe certain tyoe of HKS SLD(Speed lock delimiter)? Or a new FSC? Or other non-HKS product?

I already did some google search prior to posting here and did find the 'Pivot Speed Meter V' that you've suggested..however, upon checking its manual/catalogue..it does not support V36 engine, 370z or even V35 for that matter..it might be compatible for speed reading and others..but the Limiter Cut (LC) function will not work...below link is the list of cars compatible to Pivot Speed Meter V:

So yeah..unless someone have tried this on their V36 and it works..i wont be buying it yet...

I had a look into this when I first got my 370, came up with nothing but mind you this was 2 years ago & there was hardly anything in the way of modifications (moreso than what little is available today)

I gave up on the idea as it's a useless feature for road going & I realised I wouldn't get much fasterr than 180km/h on a racetrack straightaway before running out of space

good luck with your search :ermm:

maybe Cobb accessport from the US? but not sure if it would even have the speedcut feature & maps would be tuned to US fuel (whatever their RON equivalent they use)

Does anyone understand / speak KOREAN????

There is a Korean site that advertises a SPEED LIMIT CANCELLER (SLC) for the Skyline / Infiniti / Z 370 series engine.

There is a YouTube video to prove(!!) their claims.

Does anyone know if cars a speed limited in Korea, like Japan??

It also looks like this module is sold in USA

Ebay

HKS SPEED LIMIT DEFENCER

or with the R33 there is a wire from the ecu you cut - its likely your car has one too if you can get a pinout diagram. You could put a switch on it.

This sounds like a recipe for disaster. The amount of time it will take you to get over 180 in the v36, you'd need a run way.

Some of us would disagree and argue that it's not about getting to 180 from the moment one takes off at the lights. ;)
