R33Gtr Bm57 Bmc

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Does anyone by any chance have the part number for the NON-ABS BM57 brake master cylinder off a R33 gtr. Have tried searching on here and the nissan fast program but havent found anything very clear.

Cheers

Actually I am pretty sure I messed that up. 2 port for ABS 3 for no like you say.

The parts listed should be 3 port, not 2. It was my description which is wrong the part number is ok AFAIK.

Also the non ABS master cylinders are typically a size down from the ABS type. So whereas a Brembo GTR will run a 17/16" cylinder for ABS they run a 1" for non ABS. The Sumitomos are 1" & 15/16" respectively.

So my thing has a 17/16" unit which replaced a 1" unit when I changed the brakes over.

BM44 15/16" on all R33s except RB20e - 7/8" BMC - and GTR - 17/16 BM57. If you need P/N, let me know.

Are all BM57 the exact same? I bought a BM57 for my R32 and thought it would be direct fit but it's not, the fluid level sensor is on the other side and is a different wire connector.... If it were just a connector issue, I'm ok with that but if the brake bias is different between different BM57, then I'm in trouble... Maybe someone could find where to buy the connector and I'll just solder it?

The one I bought is: BM57. ABS.

The only other stamps I see: H30 and 24U20

24U20 means it's intended for R33 GTR. Bias is possibly different, but I don't think by too much, at least not enough to cause serious problems, as caliper piston and disk sizes are same for R32 and R33 brembos.

Proper BM57 for R32 would be 46010-05U02. You can just buy a connector for your current reservoir though, the plug is same for a load of cars - from B13 100NX to late Altimas.

Must be my turn to Necro a thread.

Does anyone know what Nissan part number or other alternative number /part the loom connector for the BM57 fluid level sensor is ? I have a new BCNR33 one ready to go on the 32, but would like to have the exact factory connector and reservoir as per 33 as I like the rectangular reservoir better (and its new) than the 32 round one.

I'm pretty handy with Nissan Fast, but this has me stumped and hours of trying to find out on Fast and online is really pissing me off - didn't think it would be this hard as the sensor and connector seems to be on nearly everything from R33, R34, Z33, Z34, Y61, Q60. Surely I should be able to find this online somewhere, because my Nissan dealer is shit and I bet won't be helpful at all.

The Nissan sensor it connects to is 46048-64J21 or the alternative NTK sensor is BF0062, both look like this:

No one ? Come on someone must be onto this. I'll owe you a beer or two ?

As far as I can work out it is some kind of Sumitomo connector, but stuffed if I can find it in their catalogue. This shouldn't be this hard....

Try an electrical supply store ...they will likely have a connector to suit.

Or maybe they don't have one in your town - many of them have comprehensive on-line catalogues.

You're joking right ? I work in electrical, not as easy as it seems...Auto sparkys will be the obvious choice as their suppliers like Ashdown Ingram's will be most of the time where stuff is supplied. Without a part number for the connector most of them will tell you to go away. Might have to scour the massive RS catalogue, and back to the Japanese Sumitomo catalogue with fresh eyes. Or even contact NTK direct.

Yes I can obviously get something sort of to work, but not factory fit like I want to satisfy my OCDness.

That's what I'm replacing, the factory BNR32 BM50 harness plug connector to whatever suits the different sensor. I am yet to see a Deutsch equivalent, but would love to be proven wrong  Has to suit the BM57 sensor that has flat pins, Deutsch DTM or DT won't suit they're round, and can't see a 2 pin housing anyway with the correct side locking, so it won't clip in properly. I have contacted NTK to see what connector suits the NTK74759 BF0062 fluid level sensor as used in the BM57 master cylinder reservoir.

Anyway, better get back to centre bearing replacement on the Ford Territory....

I thought the MC's sensor had a plug dangling on 2 wires, not hard mounted into the MC. That's the bit I was talking about. But a quick google image search shows me I was mistaken......hmmm.

Contact ABS or other equivalent brake shop to see what they know and/or can get?

I think I have solved the conundrum of the 33 BM57 master cylinder fluid level connector. @Sneaky Peteprompted me to start looking into this again. NTK were no help - they responded with "we don't know - we just make it to the manufacturers spec" - Great help.

Quite a lot of Nissans like Patrols, Pulsars, Jukes and Infinitis use this same sensor, pretty weird to not be able to obtain it easily. Anyway I thought I'd do some digging on if any other car manufacturers use the same or similar sensor and what do you know, the Ford Fiesta 2014 - 2016 uses it. Here is the Ford sensor:

Here is the NTK sensor which is identical to the genuine Nissan sensor:

This is the Ford / Motorcraft plug available to suit the Fiesta sensor:

Genuine Ford part number is DU2Z14S411APA and the Motorcraft part number is WPT-1385. Seem to be only available overseas or on US ebay. Did find these:

I think I'm gonna order one after I double check that my 33 plug looks the same but I'm 99% on this - fingers crossed

Ok I thought I'd finally put the last nail in the coffin regarding the BM57 R33 GTR master cylinder plug. As mentioned this is quite a common plug used across heaps of cars as mentioned like the Patrols, Pulsars, Infinitis - hell I even looked at our 2001 WRX and found this:

Yes, the Subaru connector is the same. The problem is if you want a new one, Subaru or Nissan cannot get you one. Now as I referenced earlier the Ford Fiesta 2014 - 2016 appeared to be the same but even better, could actually be ordered as a spare part WPT-1385 through Ford's Motorcraft arm.

So after looking around I couldn't find it in Australia, so I ordered 2 of the Ford Motorcraft WPT-1385 connectors from the US. I am happy to report that it is indeed the exact the connector you need for conversion to the BCNR33 BM57 master cylinder and have since fitted to the 32.

I know it might be trivial to some people as you can just disconnect it and the low level brake fluid light will never come on, as the sensor contacts are open when fluid is normal and is actually normally closed when low / dry.

I'm happy now 👍
