I'm sorry I love the GT-R but i've seen a lightly modified $65,000 FG F6 clean up an R35 down the 1/4 mile, so saying a bone stock R35 would destroy everything in the completion is just rubbish! For those who can't afford an R35 the F6 is by far the best bang for your buck avaliable in this country, an awesome Australian engineering masterpiece! Oh and yes and before you start throwing rocks at me, obviously on the track it would be a different story.

A RWD F6 with a 0-100 @ 5.1sec stock (say 4.5sec "lightly modded" beating a stock GT-R pulling 2 seconds quicker? I think the GTR must have been in sympathy mode (soft launched)

So essentially what you're saying is that a $65k F6 can beat a $750k Lexus LFA??!! because the GTR can pip the LFA over the quarter mile

Are you on drugs man???? A Ford FPV F6 a supercar beater?? Big bag of rocks just thrown...

Lol Easy there big fella! Easy! Just relax! Firstly there are plenty of modded daily driven f6's which are easily pulling low 11 quarters. This particular run was against a bone stock 2009 ADM. The R35 smashed him of the line but once the F6 gained traction he beat him over the line(obviously there was a bee's dick in it). We had a good chat to the owner of the R35 after the run and you'd swap the F6 for the R35 in an instant and that's quoting the owner of the F6! Secondly if you actually read my post I clearly said that the R35 is a superior car on the track. I wonder how many R35's actually see a track in their lifetime, by the way how's your garage queen going Wardy?? Have a look at the lastest Motor Mag. There are tuners achieving amazing results with Australian built VE's and FG's and these cars come with full warranty! Don't be so quick to bag out Aussie made muscle, they are some of the best made, value for money, performance SEDANS! made anywhere in the world and an important part of the Australian economy! We all know the R35 is an amzing vehicle in every respect, it's been proven but it's also nearly 200k new, so there's no need chuck a tanty when comparisoms are made!

An f6 can beat a gtr down the qtr BUT it would need to run better than a flat 11 and this tells me that either the f6 was more than lightly modified or the gtr was not racing / soft mode as above.

My mate had the BA and FG turbo, for him nothing but headaches blowing trannys, diffs, drive shafts

F6 is not bad but u pay for What u get

You are going to get grilled on this so be prepared :)

the reason the GTR is 200k new is because the government taxes the sh!t out of imports to seemingly make the local products represent better value for money and thus artificially facilitate sales.

i'll politely decline on the 'best made' commentary in fear of blowing up my internet

and as for the venerable forum favourite one dimensional straight line comparisons, a VL turbo will beat an F6 at 1/6th the price, and so on and so on......

HAHA Yeah, well, my garage queen is loving the quiet weeks, and the well driven weekends.

Didn't pay near $200k, but for sure almost double what a 12 month old F6 is worth (and rightly so), and I reckon I got more than double the value. The waiting game is key to getting a well priced new GTR.

I wouldn't care if a VL commie or F6 beat me on the strip. They're still a bucket of 5hit in comparison

Lol, Domino I suggest if you don't like the tax system in Australia you should move elsewhere. I get sick of people crying over the LCT they have to pay and the depreciation they get hammered with when buying these cars! It's simple don't buy the f..king thing! Neither major party is willing to dump the LCT because it brings in a sh*t load of revenue! Let's not forget Australian made cars are subject to the LCT too, obviously not to the extent of the GT-R because of their lower value. Don't get me wrong I'd love to pay half the price for an R35, C63, RS5 etc etc... as they do in States but would I want to live in that God forsaken sh*t of a place, no thanks! As for quality of Australian made, a mate of mine recently bought a new BMW, what a piece of junk! It spends more time at the dealer then on the road! He can't wait to get rid of it! Let's not forget that the R35 has had some issues as well, not to mention overpriced spare parts like instrument clusters hey!

Hats off to you Wardy for waiting and a buying a superseeded one and saving a bucket load of cash. I mean you'd have to be a complete fool to buy a new one and giving the government a sh•t load of your hard earned cash! By the way you can pick up a 12 month old F6 with demo klms for 45k. So you got the buy of your lifetime to get your R35 for 90k! It was 90k you paid wasn't it?? I don't think so. It always amuses me how sensitive people are about their cars! I mean at the end of the day they're just pieces of metal that get us from A to B and this is just a healthy debate. It' not like we're trading blows over our 1st born! Some people just need to chill out a bit! I think there might be a few owners out there with some insecurity and performance issues out there, perhaps in the trouser department! As I've said time and time before I love the r35 but it's always good to have a healthy debate and make comparisons! :)
