How To Deal With Bad Panel Beaters

Recommended Posts

hi, im currently having an argument with a certain panel shop over the repairs done on my car.

i was t boned on my passenger side at about 40 km/h, damage was done to the door, skirt, and rear quarter.

now the repairs have been done and im not happy with it for 2 reasons.

1, there is a dip in the paintjob where it seems as if its not flat. almost like a meteor crater on the rear quarter panel, and 2, now the door seems loose, once closed it can still be moved back and forth about half a centimetre, makes an audible rattle upon closing, and when driving over a hard bump, makes a loud noise. (as if the door is bumping around in its position)

they are trying to say that it was only quoted as a visual repair, and are blaming a rusty pillar and hinges for the new problem #2.

can anyone give me some advice on what i can do?

thanks.

put everything you are not happy about in writing , send it to the panel beater- keep a copy of it for yourself, see what he says after that . . . keep in mind there are very few good panel beaters out there and perform poor work at best. also it SOUNDS like the plastic window supports are broken
