Does anyone know where I can get a front set of wheels for my V36 225/45 R19 and my V36 wheel alignment done in perth, went down to Bob Jane, no tyres available in Australia of this size and they cant align my wheels as well since they dont have the V36 on their wheel alignment computers.

Unfortunately, no Australian distributor supplies the Nissan spec tyres for the fronts. I guess the manufacturers figure there's no market for that size. As such, the only option there is to go 225/40 R19 and even then, not all manufacturers supply that size! Dunlop are one such guilty party and I normally rate their Sport Maxx tyres.

As for the wheel alignment, maybe my knowledge of wheel alignment fails me but while I appreciate all vehicles have their own specifications for what their toe should be, surely they can look the details up somewhere and then just dial it in? That's pretty poor form but I guess the introduction of the V37/G37 next year should hopefully help to alleviate that.

Thanks I actually found some new 225/45/19 pirelli pzero nero, but were manufactured in 2006 but heres the next bit went to bob jane and said that they cant put it on since its older than 5 years.... think its their store policy. Does anyone know of a good place in perth who will put these on for me?

Thanks in Advance

Wow. When I was searching for tyres earlier this year (January), I found nothing out of Pirelli either. Looking them up now, the only current tyres that have in that size seem to be the Cinturato P7 and P1. No way I'd get those on. It's all or nothing with them, in my opinion.

You'll probably need to find a mechanic who will turn a blind eye to the old tyres if you will. A tyre of that age generally isn't in good shape if it hasn't been stored properly and as a consequence, the characteristics of the rubber will be sorely affected. That's why the Bob Jane guys aren't inclined to touch them.

I've been running 245/40 on the stock 19s for years with no issues

close enough to spec not to put your speedo out & much more common size with manufacturers

good luck finding someone to put your tyres on, have you tried a local mechanic with a tyre fitting machine?

I've run p zero nero on the fronts before they held up very well

this was in 235/40 19 a bit out of spec compared to stock tyre but again nothing to put the speedo out significantly maybe 2-3km/h on the speedo faster than you will actually be travelling

Given Nissan recommend 225's in the front, how did that affect your steering at moderate-high speeds?

no perceivable difference in steering to the 225 potenzas it came with, I've tracked on the 235/40 p zero I posted above & on 245/40 no issues :)

This car was also my daily driver until very recently (it's now my weekend car)

245/40 don't bulge on the rim or anything like that either

Nice. Something for me to keep in mind.

What's taken its daily place? An old nugget that you don't care if people open their doors on in parking stations? :)

I wouldn't expect them to since the rims are the same front and rear.

I bought a new x-trail during their 1% finance offer (they're now doing 0.9% finance this month, the bastards )

Bastards! Lol!

What tyres were put on during compliance? If you can't get the appropriate size, how did they comply the car?

it was imported with the stock bridgestone potenza (RE050?) 225/45 tyres

The tyres don't need to be precisely the same size. A small deviation is allowable.

I'm aware. Just was curious as to what they put on during compliance. If they were changed in Aus for compliance then why couldn't the OP find the same rubber? That's what I was thinking. :)

Because the front sizing of 225/45 R19 and they're not a common size in the Australian market. I certainly can't score my preferred brand/model in that size so I settled for a 225/40 R19 profile instead.

    • I'm still waiting for the bearings from Jesse Streeter so haven't fitted them yet. King pins don't fit though, if you're thinking about doing it get the king pins now because the new stock seems to be 3x the price. I got one from Kudos and one off ebay from JP 40022-60U05.   If you get them from NZ get him to mark the value down, I got touched for $2k in duty and gst
    • Alright guys, this thread really got to me, so I thought I'd do the best thing I can, and change the mowers oil.   So here is a photo of me draining it. To be totally honest, I see nothing wrong here, and think there's easily another 5 years in this oils life. But, now I've hit my next conundrum, some twit drained the oil, without having bought any new oil... Should I splurge and use olive oil, or will canola oil do?   On a serious note, I'm undecided if I REALLY need to buy 4 stroke mower oil, but some claim normal motor oil doesn't have extra zinc or some shit in it.   Also, mower has started getting blow by, it isn't pumping oil out the breather, but it is pumping out a lot of exhaust gas... Which is then making the mower hunt a lot... I'm think atmospheric vent, with a filter... PS, this is a mower I was given years ago, have had to rebuild the carb, build my own blades for it, fix up valve clearances, and then make it really sing way above any rpm it wants while I punish it in the back easement, so no, I'm not spending anything more than I need to. The thought of buying an air filter is bad enough to me and I'm searching for one I think I had on a catch can...   So while this mower is a cheapo, flogged to death, revived, flogged again, revived, flogged again, and now being turned into a zombie, does any one know if I'll seriously shorten it's life if I use something like Nulon X-Pro 5w-30, or HPR 5 5w-40 instead of spending stupid money to buy SAE30 4 stroke lawn mower oil? (And yes, if I drank alcohol I'd happily pee in the fuel tank instead of putting fuel in it... At this stage I'm siphoning year old 98 fuel from the Subaru each time I need to refill the jerry... )   So... Input?
    • @Kinkstaah So... I took your advice and looked under the bonnet... is this where the rubber strip should be? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
