My R33 Front/steering Vibrates At High Speeds

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

My car vibrates on speeds between 90 to 120 on the freeway on certain road conditions:

- Uphill at times

- Downhill at times

I got 18's fitted on the car. Got pedders to change suspension recently and still no luck. I am really pissed off and sad that I can't drive peacefully to Sydney and back with holding a washing machine.. pretty much!

It would be great help if you could please suggest what to look for / mechanic in Canberra to get this checked out and have a stable car.

Thanks in advance

Regards

Can you change the front rims to the rear and see if the vibrations come through your seat?

If they do, it's the wheels.

If they don't, it could be alignment, bushes...

Tried TROJAN in Mitchell or who they'd recommend?

check tierod ends.might be worn

THIS!

Everyone comes up with complicated/expensive potential causes for this problem but really unless you've replaced these recently Tie rod ends & rack ends should be the first things you check out.

Certainly check tie rods. Lift up the front wheels and rock them from left to right by hand, if you feel play in them you may have worn outer or inner rack ties. If you can feel up/down/in/out kind of play...well that is much worse. But simple stuff first.

Check for worn bushes as well, anything that lets the wheel assembly move about while driving.
