“Rbn1” R32 Gtr - 7 Years In Storage – Time To Restore And Rebuild.

Recommended Posts

Happy Friday!

Just got this picture back from Craved Coatings of the finished product.

IMG_2432_zpsx2zlunl8.jpg

Cost around $308 including courier back to me. Should last for another 3 rebuilds at least ;)

Hopefully they arrive Mon/Tue. Gotta book the car in at Racepace now, which will make it a bit more than a year since the last motor died.

Covers arrived back from Craved Coatings yesterday.

The below photo still doesn't do them justice. They're a deep metallic candy red. Pretty close to how I originally painted them.

Will take a better photo of them in better light once they're on the car.

Admittedly, got the car back around a month ago but haven't had time to post anything about it.

Been pretty busy with the new home.........for the GTR. House with rear, drive through access and a nice big garage that will get some work done on it in the new year.

On a run-in tune @315rwkw 18psi. Gotta find time to get it between 5-800kms so I can take it back for a retune back to 335rwkw @20psi.

I know that a couple of people have said this, but I just read the whole thread start to finish in about 30 minutes glued to my screen! The way you have done your interior has seriously inspired me to buy lots of goodies off RHDJapan [emoji23] Recently got into my first GTR and this is my first post on the forums ?

Welcome and congrats on the new R. The interior is a nice way to start off on one of these cars, if you just got yours. They look a bit bland these days and little bits and pieces really lift the overall look.

So how about those time targets?

Yeah I hear you. First service on the new motor will be in Jan so maybe a bit quiet till then unless I get motivated.

Did you ever get results from the fuel sample?
Any ideas on original engine failure? Action taken to prevent a repeat?

We knew it was fuel contamination and apparently the sample wouldn't tell us exactly what it was so we didn't end up getting one.

Guess i'll need to avoid small town servos. Will take gerry cans with me track day. Almost makes me want to go e85, if I'll be karting fuel around...
