R32 Ecu - No Fault Light/check Engine Light

I've had problems with the car cutting out while driving and just generally runnin average so I tried to check the fault codes on the ecu when I was sorting out the issue. Resoldered the AFM and all seems fine now but when I went to check the ecu fault codes the light (only saw a single LED) on the ecu would not light up or the dash check engine light wouldn't.

I followed the procedure of turning the car to on, turning the screw on the ecu completely clockwise and nothing. I tried this several times and different cominations of turning the screw to see if I could get anything, but nope.

Thought it would be strange to not have any error codes. Also should the ecu/check engine light up when the car is switched to On regardless?

Check engine doesn't light up at all when I start the car either.
