Bluetooth Music Streaming On V36 Coupe

Recommended Posts

Simon, I have an iPhone 5 and I am not able to do bluetooth streaming via this handset to my V36 350GT SP.

Chris Rogers has informed us that the technology is different and it wont work.

handsets like the samsung g2 and Nokia windows handsets work fine and have been confirmed by others.

I haven't seen anyone with an iPhone 5 get it to work, apparently the iPhone3 worked well and don't know about the 4 or 4s.

I use the Apple Composite AV cable with a lightning adaptor to connect to the iPhone 5. NO VIDEO SUPPORT just audio.

http://store.apple.com/au/product/MC748ZM/A/apple-composite-av-cable?fnode=45

I have tested a iPhone 4s using this cable and can get the video to work a treat but the moment the car isn't in park you wont have video only audio. You need to do some sort of video bypass thinggy that i haven't the stones to do as im not confident about pulling out the dash!

I can only tell you what I have done to my v36, and what i have got to work for me.

Yes there has been numerous posts about this however nothing really definite to say this model phone works and this one doesn't.

I have NOT got the iPhone 5 to work unless I am missing something i really DONT think this handset will work with bluetooth audio streaming.

There are a few post confirming that the iPhone 5 works. It works on my car. I have tested iPhone 3, 3S, 4, 4S and 5 on mine. All works well, no issues whatsoever.

What I do is I connect the car and phone via BT through the phone function of the car

And then turn on streaming through the music settings where you adjust bass, treble, increase volume while driving, etc...theres a menu for bluetooth streaming music in that

Check the translation pdf file pinned on the main V forum page. PM me if you need more details. I cant remember exactly now that I'm at work but can go thru with you later when I get in my car or at home.

Wow thanks Colin, I have my iPhone 5 working via bluetooth for phone functionality olny however Bluetooth audio streaming I haven't been able to achieve this.

I will review the translation pdf file again an let you know how i get on tonight.

I will look under the music settings menu and respond.

for some reason i thought BT audio streaming didn't work under this car and just lived with that.

There is an option under the bluetooth menu where you will see all other phones that were paired with the car, delete them all, then pair your phone again and you will see a sub menu where you will see your phone that is paired and if you click on it, you highlight a button on the far right of your handset and then the bluetooth streaming will start working, i was also under the assumption that new phone with newer BT software dont work but it is not the case so far every phone i have tried has worked if you follow this procedure.

cheers

Ok I have to be a total spaz because I can't get this to work.

I have removed my device then re added it and I can't see any Bluetooth streaming options.

I have check the sound settings menu where the base and fader are and the was no options.

If you could spell out how to do this that would be great.

You can have just call audio or just music or both. you need to choose the right one in the settings when pairing.

pair agian and try a different option. (I'm guessing yours is still in Japanese)

Thanks 20161206_220707.thumb.jpeg.8291ae52e8698mate. Do you remember what's for music as I just repaired using all and all saying call audio. 20161206_220724.thumb.jpeg.0b68557dadaa820161206_220716.thumb.jpeg.ed547a538bc6a

My navigation through the menu is different from yours. For bluetooth I have to enter the phone settings first. I'm wondering if because it's paired in the phone settings would be why I can't see a bluetooth option under audio. Hmm.

download the google translate app on your phone.
it will take a picture of the screen then convert all Japanese to English for you.
its a bit odd but it works

Hello again. I looked all over and I couldn't find no way of changing it from call audio to music audio. Under audio settings I didn't find no bluetooth option. Only under the phone settings. Maybe my version doesn't have bluetooth for music. [emoji19] if anyone knows at least I will know. I tried the Google translate. Worked

The confusion is that there are two sets of Bluetooth menus... There is the one under phone for setting up hands free etc. This is covered in the translation document pinned to the forum.

But then you need to find the bluetooth menu from the Audio menu, to set up the music streaming... To be honest it is quite similar to the G37 as many of the menus are the same, just in a different language...

    • Timing map only tells part of the story, I've seen a few cars where the CAS has been adjusted so you might see 12 at the ECU but at the motor you could be seeing 8 kind of thing. A S15 I converted from PowerFC to Nistune had just that, CAS was turned back to have less timing than the ignition map itself lol... "Choonered".
    • But your running 1.6 bar of boost, is it still 12 degrees of timing at 1.6 bar of boost? Also, is there e85 fuel at the petrol stations in Dubai?
    • swaybar swaybar swaybar swaybar swaybar anyway OP, what is currently in your car, are they factory shocks and sway bar? Any sign anything else has been changed under there over the years? And as Murray said....what are effect you looking to change
    • Congratulations on your find  Did you mean it has 6k miles or was that a typo? Firstly, keep in mind some movement of the shifter is normal...it is a long rod hanging out of a box bolted to the engine. Having said that there are 2 next places to look: 1. Transmission and engine mounts. If these are worn or broken the shifter will move around more. They are reasonably easy to source and replace on a hoist, and possible but uncomfortable to replace car stands 2. On the bottom of the shifter there is a nylon cup that sits over shifter's ball end. If this is worn or broken the shifter will move around more than it should (but will still shift OK). That is a cheap part and requires removal of centre console, rubber shifter hole covers and a circlip in the gearbox shifter hole to remove the shifter. Re maintenance, as with any new import you should change all the fluids including transmission when you get it; never trust the seller and previous owners to have done the right thing. I am pretty sure R34 GTT is the same as earlier big box transmissions, so use any good quality GL4 75w90 trans fluid if it is shifting well (if it is hard to shift due to synchro wear, redline shockproof lightweight will keep it alive a bit longer before rebuild is required)
