You've got to buy someone elses built GTR. It seems to have been somewhat successful for me! emoji16.png

Haha I'm a bit picky how I want things done, hence I doubt I could ever find a car that's built the way I like. So that leaves me two options, build it myself OR find a stock, fast, reliable car lol.

100% understand that. I was super lucky with the LM. I put a lot of trust in people i didn't know. It worked out for me, thankfully. But I can definitely understand wanting to make sure everything was done right/your way. The LM still needed cosmetic works but the mechanicals are solid so it's a good starting point.

Fast and reliable... all i can say is never buy an E60 M5. It ticks one of those boxes and utterly fails on the other. What were you saying about a flash cable and credit card? ?

I would love an FX M5 or Even 545 etc.

BUT I am not looking for a fast daily, I dont need more help to speed.

Really I just want to be comfortable and then thrash something built for that.

If I lost my work car, just a basic SZ2 Territory, I wouyld almost certainly just buy another one. I toy with the idea of a used Q7, but Terri's are so cheap to own all round and a great family car that I'd rather spend the left over on a bike/4wd mods/race car etc.

Jesus christ we are old.

I'm too white and my girls are full ginger so we ain't about that sunshine living.

I also fit this white description. I believe pastey is mentioned often regarding my completion. My friends called me "Tip Top" because that's how white i am.
Also I can recommend a bog standard E60 530i if you like cruising around in comfort. We have a wagon and it is just perfection. Just enough power for overtaking, nice soft suspension (ish), and the interior noise is non-existent.
It's also cheap as hell to fix if you can read codes and operate torx screwdrivers.

LOL I'm yellow and immigrant looking, constanly asked where I come from and when I reply "Sydney" and then get asked yeah but where were you born and I reply "Sydney" and people look confused.

So if I get a boat, it will suit the stereotype, I'll reply Bayliner next time LOL

Not if he's spending money on an old Skyline :P

I put some Tein street z whatever suspension ($800 delivered from UK) in the Liberty GT wagon, happy days. 250k km and head gasket hasn't blown, so good practical (wagon) daily that isn't too bad on fuel is a good idea. Leather, half decent sound system, good insulation are necessary :P

I did highest level math (was called specialist back then in Vic) and f**king hated it. Yet physics was the same math but actually applied to the real world and that ruled.

"You need to know this because you wont always have a calculator with you"

Nigga my watch is better at math than I will ever be.

Did I mention we're old?

Yep, same.

Everyone mentions e60, but I've read about so many issues with them and they are but ugly, sorry bro :(

Yeah agree. The back of them are the the problem. It's solved if you get the E61 (the wagons). Bloody love em. (Also love 33s soooo, yeah i'm weird).

I was lol... did my 2U Maths in Year 11 and 4U in Year 12.... now all the partying, beer, drugs, E85 fumes have made me dumb

I wasn't stupid in school, i was just never there, cause i was a little know it all prick, i guess. Have spent the last 10 years slaving away to get ahead in the corporate world. sigh, if i'd just knuckled down instead of being an arrogant jerk, i'd be doing even better. Still sometimes you just gotta figure the world out on your own.

Yeah man, being smart at school and being smart at life are different things - don't worry, it seems you're doing just fine with your toys and assuming you own property :)

I was a bit late to the property market game, but at least I'm in and have some money left over for subpar Garrett and Haltech parts LOL.

    • Well, I do turn bearing housings, shafts and wheels on special orders, so you can order any wheel sizing preferred. Parts came from ever where obviously, it sounds like I'm just assembling cores, but importance is I get to check if all parts are made to specs, all clearances and runout are right, balanced ok, bearing pack sounds before passing onto clients.  Building test cars, doing dyno testing and sponsoring drift cars, this is all parts of QC, so I get to know how a particular package performs before selling.  Yep, its slow and ineffective way of production, but I prefer less headaches.
    • Going to get 4x Toyota Rav 4 diesel injectors changed at a non dealer mechanic will set you back a bit over $4k. So not too far off.
    • @Dose Pipe Sutututu get a slice of the BMW life going on here. This is what, $6k for... fixing some leaks with some OEM quality gaskets/lines, to fix up OEM gasket/lines which were failing/failed?
    • nice to see a tuner ramping in power instead of having the 5000rpm torque mound.   would be a hoot to drive. For context, I have 490rwkw at 27psi on a 2.6 8374 and that was doing 126,000rpm on the turbo (maxed) so there would still be a bit left in the 8474 for sure.
