R32 For sale

Hi guys, ive been looking to buy a 32gtr for a while now.. I'm in Victoria but I have found one interstate that id like to look into a little more. Just wondering if anyone has already inspected the car or has some extra info on it. This is the car in question

I haven't inspected it :(

However it looks genuine in the photos presented.

A few things have been added to it other than the exhaust.

Handbrake boot, aftermarket head unit, front shocks, strut brace, floor matts - nothing of importance really.

I like that it has the OEM wind deflectors, the c-pillar internal trims are intact.

Worth looking at.

$49k asking price I suppose is pretty good with the way 32's are going up in value over the last 12months.

One thing gets my goat in the description "neck breaking acceleration". If you've driven an OEM 32 it's stretch to describe it like that. Just the linear way in which they accelerate negates "neck breaking acceleration".

Would you drive it or park it is the question ;)

Heartbeat cars seem to target the lower mileage grade 4 cars.

I haven't seen the car but in the pictures it does look quite tidy.

I've looked at a few cars they have sold, some good some not so good.

It's advertised as having books and all relevant export documentation which is a must.

I think it has coilovers plus the other mods mentioned in the ad.

If you can negotiate a deal as closer to $45K you are doing well.

If you buy it, make sure you get them to bend the rules a bit and overlook the side guard blinkers in the compliancing .

When fitted aftermarket, they are really an eyesore and are rarely aligned to the GT badge.

Anyway, on face value, a nice car!

Bob.

Thanks for the info guys.. I did notice the suspension had been changed .. It has Ohlin shocks.

I guess that's just your typical salesmen talk sinista haha.. I haven't actually driven a stock one but yeah I cant imagine they'd be too quick. My plan would likely be to drive it.. I drive maybe 20km's a day so it would definitely be bought to enjoy until its eligible for REC REG atleast.

As you mentioned Bob its a grade 4 and does look to be in pretty good condition. I was assuming the compliancing would already be done but yeah thankfully they have left the side blinkers off. I imported a 32gtr a few years back and they left them off then thankfully.. they look terrible.

Preferably I want a white 32 so if you guys know of any please let me know but this looks to be worth a look.

I think Heartbeat have a White R32 V-spec for sale as well for $52k ??

I spoke to Heartbeat yesterday, obviously talks a bit of rubbish like all used car salesman but seemed ok to me.

I'm currently looking as well for an R32 but seems anything imported now is going to have something that requires fixing given age. km's etc and for the prices they are fetching its hard take that you may have to spend $$$ straight up when your already paying 40K plus

Why does it worry you djr81? From what I've seen they have all got paint flaking regardless off km's or have been resprayed at some stage?

There are a number of telltales for high kms.  I am not saying they apply to this car.  But they usually are warn seat, warn steering wheel, warn leather boots and paint off the plenum. As I said the car looks tip top but I would ask the bloke in the white leather shoes to see if he has an explanation.

The plenum paint is known to flake off anyway so isn't a reliable indicator.  It just stands out on such a tidy car is all.

It may well be someone has had a go at removing it after a small amount flaked off.

Heartbeat had that V Spec 2 for 45-47k on facebook (cant remember exact price) and it was listed as sold in a few hours. Then it got listed again for 51.5k. This was a few months ago

maybe a poor attempt to jack up prices

I got my car from a guy who purchased his car off HeartBeat cars. Whilst I don't have any personal experience with them directly, the car speaks for itself and its immaculate, clean, straight rails, no rust etc etc.

I've been keeping a keen eye on prices and whilst good examples are pricey...at the end of the day you usually pay for what you get.

A R32 Vspec II with 50k kms on the clock for $30k AUD landed...is well quite frankly almost too good to be true.

Your right - compliance was done Dec 2016.

Can't go past Ohlin shocks

Yeah unless they are stuffed like the ones that were in my car when i got it :12_slight_smile:

  • 4 weeks later...

What are people thoughts on a grade RA imports?

I was also considering a tidy example from Heartbear car - https://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/Nissan-Skyline-1994/OAG-AD-14565738/?Cr=3

I have received the de-registration papers to verify kilometers and the auction papers but was a little concerned spending up being on a grade RA.

What are peoples thoughts?

    • I've been running a 525 for years with the standard hat and FPR in the stagea (mine has a 32 gtr fuel rail and stagea and 32 hat and tank setup are the same) without an issue with base fuel pressure. You said when you disconnected the return it is OK, did you do so at the fuel rail or the fuel hat? Either way I'd be looking for blockages or in the case of the tank kinks in the lines downstream Note I did however have an issue with the current required for the 460 melting the fuel hat.
    • I'm trying to maintain stock appearance . Hicas is still installed (although has lockout kit) did you retain factory fuel pump hat? If so I assume you used a bulkhead fitting or similar ?  I was also trying to avoid a full re design as it was previously dynoed at 426kw atw with same setup but different pump. Changing return line would also mean having to change ethanol sensor and fpr and possibly fuel rail. Not chasing more power in any way just reliability of the setup
    • I do think it's weird I had it for 2 weeks then the issue came up out of nowhere and progressively got worse. I would've imagined changing everything in the ignition system would've resolved any ignition related misfires but still has the high rpm and idle misfires that seem unchanged. I would've thought if it was fuel related it would happen all the time unless it's the pump losing pressure when it gets hot. If it was the ecu I would think it would do it all of the time.  Something I noticed when I had it all apart was a pretty decent coating of oil in the J pipe coming from the throttle body. The weird thing about that is the pcv that goes to the intake is blocked off. So that has me wondering if the oil is coming from the turbo because that's the only thing that could get oil in there. This thing does sound like it spools like a mofo like I'm a former dsm guy and the only stock turbo I've ever heard spool this loud (to only go up to about 5psi) is on a diesel truck. And the recirculated bov is really loud too I had a TurboXS RFL and this thing is just as loud and being so low on psi seems a little weird. I don't know if any of this is or isn't related but just trying to make sure I'm not leaving any potentially helpful information out.
    • So latest update. I replaced the ignitor with a jspec unit from enjuku. It felt a lot better at first although it is a little bit cooler of a day than it has been. Warming up didn't have as much misfire sputtering as before. Went on a 10m test drive. Felt good, a lot stronger though I was taking it easy on the boost. On the return trip started getting the cutting out at higher rpm again and was getting worse the longer I was driving. Took it easy the rest of the way home. Before turning the car off was getting the normal idle sputtering I was getting before.  So where I'm at now, entire ignition system has been replaced with upgraded components. Plugs still gapped at .8mm. Removed the fuel cap in case it was building too much reverse pressure I'm the tank, didn't help at all. Now I'm still on the same tank of gas the fuel treatment was in, I'm thinking if I can run that out and then refill with fresh 93 maybe  the treatment is too concentrated in some areas but doesn't explain that it only does it once the car is warm. I'm leaning towards fuel pump or injectors but if the injector was clogging I don't think it would make it shut off like it has but then fire right back up like nothing happened. So my current guess would be the pump. Without a fuel pressure guage no way to test or check it while it's running.  So that's kind of where I'm at. Need to start testing fuel components and ecu/wiring but I'm at a loss of what's the next logical step and procedure for testing it.
    • @niZmO_Man thanks for that info, lucky I bought the gktech ones 🤙.
