Tricks for getting fuel hose off filter?

This always seems unusually hard, since simply pulling the host seems to make it lock harder against the barbs - any shortcuts?

There's a tool for it but I don't have one. I've had good results with boiling water, just pour it over the hose for a little bit and it'll soften up.

If it's ever that stuck for me I tend to cut it off the hard line and replace the fuel hose from the hard line, but I'm a little pedantic with things like that.

Cut hose and replace with new one because its most likely as old as the car iteslf and it is about $5 worth of hose

Hose is newish, and cost is trivial, but if i replace it i'll still have to pull the cut end off the barbed hard pipe...

Push it on, twist and then keep twisting back and forth as you pull it back

Boil water and pour it on there then twist it with like a pliers or something

Ok, wasnt as bad as i remember. Maybe getting rid of the HICAS piping meant i could get my hands under the plenum easier this time

Works everytime, u can put tape on the pliers to protect the hose if you wish

I usually replace the hose with a bit of extra length then I just cut the end off it each time lol

Twisting with pliers, works for me, but has the potential to damage the hose. Just bought 25' of Gates barricade through Amazon for 90AUD inc delivery, I was surprised how quickly it came too, only 2 weeks, also surprised to see it had a manufacture date of 2017.

Cool thats exactly what i need. Supercheap has them as "Toledo Fuel / Vacuum Line Pliers - 301173" for $24.
