R32 gts4 rear diff and oil

Hey All

I'm about to change my rear diff oil (little whiney) in my 1989 r32 gts4.

I've read the forums for hours and have a few questions:

- is my rear diff the same or similar to the r32 gtr?

- is my rear diff viscous or mechanical, and

- most importantly what oil should I buy. I like the motul engine oil so is gear ff lsd the go?

So is the diff the same as a normal gts-t or something different altogether? If I put the gear ff lsd oil in will it do any damage?

I don't know what diff is in your car.

If it is factory and if it is LSD, then it is viscous.  There were no mechanical diffs in anything other than GTRs until the R34 (when a few got helicals, which are mechanical, but not as you know it).

LSD oils have friction modifiers in them to make the friction surfaces work.  These are not needed in diffs without friction surfaces. Viscous diffs do not have friction surfaces (unless they have been shimmed by people who wrongly believe that shimming them is a good idea).
