Looking at purchasing a R32 GTR that is located in Brisbane and want to organise a pre-purchase inspection as i'm in Melbourne

Any recommendations on places to take it to?

Cheers

RACQ will do a full report for you

Umm, that might be a good suggestion for a guy buying a Camry, not an R32

Why not they looked over both my s13 and my R34 🤷‍♂️ They are a qualified mechanic looking at a vehicle, there is no difference

But they won't look for things such as Attessa not working, or if someone has removed the entire HICAS system out of the car and replaced it with a lock bar because they have NFI or if someone has dropped a Nistune into the car and dialled it in or if the turbos have been swapped out for bigger ones, etc.

They're trained to inspect stock ADM cars.

If I were to get an inspection (not that I would need one or pay anyone for it) it would be someone that specialises in JDM shit boxes.

Hello Steve.

The few cars I've bought interstate I have always had them sent to reputable and widely known GTR workshops for their PPI.
I've had one each in WA, NSW and Vic. No garage worth their salt would turn you down and a buyer who won't reasonably let it be inspected is probably hiding something.

My advice would be to find out who is the leading couple of Japanese/GTR workshop/tuners and make some calls.

People who look at these cars day in day out can spot a dud a mile away. What i will add though, is any PPI is better than none.

Best of luck! [emoji16]

Thanks guys for the recommendations! I've thought about RACQ (or similar) but would prefer someone who specialises in the cars

Anyone know of any reputable tuners up there?

cheers

Have a look through these threads. Some are ancient though, so make sure you follow up by viewing their Google or Facebook reviews or asking someone who uses one of them.

Ok not the worst part of brissy. Not that far from Otaku Garage, they may be able to help, and would be qualified.
