Fitting grub screws to RB26 crank

As the title to this thread topic suggests , can anyone tell me what size and thread grub screws are usually fitted to the RB26 crank to replace the pressed in factory alloy plugs?

I "think" its m6x1 but dont take my word for it.

Well, technically it is "whatever size you drill and tap them to be". Within the size limits of course. Pulling a plug out and measuring it and the hole it came out of would tell you pretty quickly what size thread you could drop into it.

This photo is from an RB25DET crank, but probably no different to an RB26. The drill bit shank shown is 6mm, so I'd say the grubscrew is M6, and would assume the thread pitch is 1.0 because thats the common size (but you could use a fine thread if you wish). they are quite short - I'm thinking 5 mm or so from memory. I'm not removing it to check as it's threadlocked.

Having explored the original sizing of the alloy plugs these are 6mm and so do not suit a 6mm grub screw.

I drilled to accept an 8mm dia x 8mm pug 1.25 pitch. After doing this and dropping the crank of at the machine shop for a linish he confirmed that he also fits 8mm plugs.
