12 point internal bolt

Hi Guys has anyone ever come across a 12 point internal stud.

What is it actually called and what tool,

can I use to remove it.

It is on A Barnes 5stage Drysump pump.

I need to re position the mounting bracket.

Yep most shops like vek tool or equivalent will have them

sorry if this is a dumb question, but can't a regular 6 sided hex driver undo that, just like a 6 or 12 point socket can undo a 6 sided nut?

Thanks for all of your responses.

I've tried the HW6 and it's sloppy as.

The HW7 is too big.

The 3/16 he's is too small.

The 1/4" hex is just a bit loose.

I don't want to strip the points off.

Yeah, 12 point works best because the "splines" are not as straight sided as 6 point in-hex stuff.

Hard to tell from those pictures but it could be triple square, anyone who works on German stuff would have a set.
