Just a quick note to let everyone know about our track day coming up Sunday 12 September 2004. There is always people who after the event say they would have come if they were aware it was on.

Details on our site.

Cost is $195 to enter and free entry into the track as all specators over 10 years old pay $10. Oran Park on a Sunday cost HEAPS, this is now one of only two Sydney Circuit Racing tracks and is in big demand. It costs around $4000 to hire on a Sunday, Public Liability $2130, Ambulance $450 or could be more now, time keeper same, events caller, pro race drivers, trophies, staff etc all adds up to over $8000. Divide that by 30 or so cars depends on how many enter and $ ? Last Oran Park Track Day we ran at over $2k loss. Company Secretary ( wife ) says get at least to almost break even or NO MORE. So we need your support. So rather than just talk about it come check it out at least or better still enter.

Plus world of difference from Wakefield during the week or other cheaper tracks out of Sydney, as no pro drivers to instruct, no time keepers with expensive transponders in each car, no events caller or trophies. It is actually very cheap for what you get compared to other similar days, in fact Half price of some.

Pro drivers we have for this one is bigger than ever.

Jose Fernandez Ford Konica cup driver and instructor for Ian Luff driving School.

John Boston very experienced driving instructor also for Ian Luff.

Aaron Lewis vast experience in racing and drives in Improved Production.

Jonathon Web who races in Porsche Cup and usually in top 6.

Yes there is heaps of laps and the biggest collection of imports at a track to compete against the clock. Also drift comp middle of the day.

Zed v's GTR or GTS-T challenge is on.

PS Steve from Just Jap looked after me on a set of R34 GTR wheels for the zed for drifting. Looks tough and every day becoming more of a GTR.

Jimbo Oran Park is like any other track, as long as you dont drive over confidently you will be fine. There's 2 interesting points, the line over the dogleg is blind, so you have to kinda hope you are going the right way over the crest, and the turn onto the straight has a wall.

But its a good, interesting track, even in the short circuit layout its more challenging than Eastern Creek.

Best of all, John has lined up some great instructors for the day, so take advantage of their experience. The right lines are trickier to pick up than at Eastern Creek but it's great once you get it right :P

Come on guys, let's get behind this one. UAS has always taken care of SAU now we need to get as many people involved in this as possible.

Go to www.nismo.com.au and download the required forms then register your attendance. This will be a great fun day.

I was going to head back up to Sydney for this, but i spun a bottom end bearing the other day at Phillip Island, so have to sit this one out...i badly wanted to go for a wrap around Oran Park as well.

These sorts of days are rare, in that a workshop puts it on, so agree people should get behind them and ensure that they continue well into the future :)

Head west along the M4 towards Penrith. Turn left off the Motorway at "The Northern Road". Follow this road for about 25-30mins until you see Oran Park on your left hand side appear from nowhere out of cow pastures :)

i don't think i will get full effect of track without good suspension setup.(lots of body roll)

Is it still worth it with standard setup?

I'd love to have a crack, as it'll be my first time on a track.

I still have the stock setup. True it rolls but doesn't stop you having a good time.

Stock means you're not cheating :)

Check out the body roll:

Getting your car on the track is a hoot and not to be missed, particularly if you can get instruction.

Where is Wrecked head when you need him?

Getting lots of interest in this one from all over and some tough cars coming. Appreciate your support and previous best lap times will fall.
