Hey dynamix, you'll need to clarify this further but i'm pretty sure you'll be able to use the standard RB25DET one because the main differences aren't going to be with the motor, they'll be to do with traction control etc. There shouldn't be a real lot of difference with the two motors and tuning of them so the standard power FC should run on that motor. Also if you're runing the standard loom then the standard PFC will plug straight in.

i'd say youd need an r34 power fc, but thats just my opinion. the neo6 has different timinig or something added over than standard rb25det which says to me u need a specific r34 powerfc, otherwise you could simply use an r33 stock ecu, which woudn't work im assuming, ask your local performance shop or ask who ever did the engine swap if you can contact them

its about the wiring loom actually.

I'd assume when they transplanted the engine, then also did the wiring loom to match it, unless the Neo6 has the same wiring as a R33 motor.

Be careful dude.

If you have a R34 ECU, then a PowerFC for a R34.

If you have a R33 ECU (which I don't think would work with a Neo6 cause they are slightly different) then get a R33 power FC.

afaik, the Neo engine has continuously variable valve timing, whereas the the R33 engine just has stepped adjustment. That would mean the R34 PFC would be the only way to go as the R33 PFC wouldn't know how to handle it.

You'd better check it up with a tuner though - I wouldn't want you to go and buy something based on what I said.

i've got the ROM reprogrammer for the NEC controller chip in the power FC. If you've already got a power FC I might be able to reflash it to the right one (will need to borrow a neo one too to get the dump of the software), and it should work, providing the ECU pinouts are still the same, and the only diff between the NEO PFC and the non NEO PFC is just the software on the PFC.

Or you could just buy a neo PFC and sell your current one :D

    • Yes the gear for the R33/34 is different, it is red and has a different number of teeth. My part didn't come with that gear though, so I don't know how many teeth are on the red one. You'd have to reuse the 260RS/R33 gear, as long as it's not destroyed.   Haha, as unfortunate as that might be it was working fine for about the first 1500km I've had the car for now.
    • Update all   thanks to the workshop manual, it lead me back to checking fuses as mentioned central locking and door open lights worked when acc was switched on. diagram attached shows two points of power 1. ACC and 2.  Batt with the later being fused (#28) I did check the fuses using a multimeter but I must have stuffed that up also. Went back and checked the batt fuse in interior fuse box and you wouldn’t believe it… a blown fuse. replaced fuse and everything is now working as it should including the climate control   thank you all with your positive insight and knowledge.
    • Where is the warning "That this thread is super old"   I just went into a 5 year old thread, went to do a reply, and couldn't see anywhere obvious a warning of it being super old
    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.
