Hi everyone, has anyone bought, used or seen these kits in action? I am a very careful of what I do with my car, so here it is explained properly:

I am now getting Tomei cams, cam gears, valve springs, valve lifters, a Metal head gasket (Super Gromment) & NISMO 720cc injectors, so I can increase power & drop the boost. However the boost will go up now & then, but I have promised myself not to break my GT30.

My new 4" Greddy/Trust exhaust, & radiator is going on on Wednesday 30th Nov. I might even get that wastegate spring too & see how close I can get to 300RWKW. I know its 15 to get (currently 285), but it can be pretty hard to get that 15 isn't it?

I was dead against getting cams & opening up the engine again, but I have had some serious professional advice on getting a NOS kit. This is for the times I would like to enter down at the track, but I will be a more of a regular on the dragstrip now trhan I thought.

However, I would prefer to run without NOS, but I think I could have some fun (safe fun) with it.

If anyone has some good advice for me, I am all ears.

If Ash see's the post I hope he dosn't think that I'm just getting cams because everyone else is. B)

I am trying to increase my responsiveness of my engine even more now. That dosn't mean to say that isn't screamer already. However, I won't be pushing the engine over 400RWKW.

If you read this Ash, Do you still want to catch up & go for a test drive? I am a slack p***k sometimes, My membership form/payment isn't sitting in my desk drawer anymore & it will be mailed tomorrow so I can go to the last few events for the year. I will try my best to get to them all.

By the way I forgot to mention, I'm after a 100hp or 150hp MAX shot to use with the NOS SYSTEM, but if that is dangerous for the engine, I will drop it down a bit.

Cheers,

Chris

You forgot to tell us what motor you are using it on. If an rb25 then when getting over 300rwkw you will be pushing you stock motor's life span right down. The standard internals wont last long at that rate. Anyhow a 50 - 75 hp shot should be heaps if you are allready making 285rwkw, and same again you will be pushing the motor when using it, let alone a 100 ~ 150 hp shot.

As if i wouldnt see this

I think you'll need every little bit as your on 20psi already arent you?

Getting the extra 15 isnt easy if your already on the limit of what you already have. 285 from RPM is a solid effort.

You have already made even more than i did on PULP with a stocker head.

NOS will bring you on a bit earlier and give you a lot more for drag, it should go nicely.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of power it makes too with the extra value adds going into your setup for sure.

720's...Nismos... hmm... Arent they 740's?

Do you need to change fuel rail?

If you read this Ash, Do you still want to catch up & go for a test drive?

I'd be stoked if you could take me for a run dude. You have such a similar setup to mine

I aint been in my own car for 3 months (and itll be 2-3more)... my little Ford Laser really isnt as fast as i think it is :D

I'll PM ya my mobs later when i get time and we'll sort something out.

Sorry they are NISMO 740 injectors, I must have read the Nengun listing wrongly (up to late again) or they listed it wrong. The fuel rail? I know there is alot of debate on this, so I will check with RacePace Motorsport first. I always ask Ben now if I'm not 100% on something. Yeah Ash, PM me your number

when you are ready, it's about time someone from SAU see's it.

Cheers

Chris

I have had nitrous on a VG30de. I know it isnt turbo or an rb25, but i thought my input could help.

Even a 50 shot at launch will give you a massive increase in exhaust gas flow. This will make your turbo spool a lot earlier, now depending on what sort of tyres you run that can either be a good or bad thng.

If you do go for nos i would use it to get off the line spraying in first and not much else.

Or go for a pressure switch set at say 10psi and have the pressure switch turn off the nos at anything over 10psi.

I am not sure of the kit you are talking about but you will also need a purge system, bottle heater, and decent wiring, distrabution block for your solanoids.

Nos can be a lot of fun at the track but in the wrong hands it will destroy your motor.

and also be careful where you buy it from. whoever sells it needs a proper system to decanter it or you will be paying $100 for a bottle of air!!!

    • Man, different parts but the same numbers is terrible @dbm7! And it doesn't help that most online shops don't list the part numbers at all. They just give a list of compatible models...
    • Slow when hot could also be because its getting more dynamic compression, OR things are getting a bit tighter once it is all expanded. If it were an earthing issue, typically I'd expect you to have it have issues all the time. Unless it's really a combination of both things. Where the higher compression, and things being a bit tighter, is giving that bit of extra load and you do need a slight clean up on the cables/connections.
    • Yeah, this is one of the most annoying things about nissan part numbers... I've got an unrelated example... Image is of the AT output shaft ~ they have the same part#, but clearly the shaft on the left is beefier design to that on the right ...the difference (essentially) is the 'lighter' shaft on the right, is for engines up to RB25DE (this includes RB20 variants) : the shaft on the left is for RB25/26DET(T)....are they interchangeable? Yes...but obviously one shaft is going to be stronger than the other...and, the lighter shaft is around USD115, but the heavier shaft closer to USD150...same part#... ...epc-data usually tells a tale ~ the amayama listing for 39100-23U60 has a note "Longest side is between 60 and 105 cm" ; no such info is there for 39100-23U70 ...and given the great disparity in price between the 2 parts, it makes me at least curious (to the point of caution) where the 'extra money' went? ...ie; these 2 parts have a cost difference that (to myself at least) isn't explained by 'plastic boot'...ie; with amayama there's AUD700 price difference ...plastic versus rubber?...I'm not seeing it like that...and 60cm ~ 105cm...??...that's a huge disparity....something hinky going on here... I'd try searching by VIN, not model... /2cents
    • I don't know for sure, but I'd expect them all to be interchangeable given the diff end and hub end don't move/change between any C34 series. Often Nissan will change part numbers and the aftermarket follows those year ranges; but the original part number change doesn't mean other parts won't fit. The change could be a change in material, internal parts or even just supplier. For example, all the RB gearbox to engine bolts are no longer available and there is a new part number instead. The only change is they went from cadmium plated bolts to zinc plated due to the issues manufacturing with Cadmium. They look different but work the same.
