  1. Thanks guys, I finally got the thing installed after a bit of swearing and staying up 2 nights after work. The fitting is exactly for a R33 but i had to adjust the rubber tubing for it to go on an angle downwards near the turbo instead of upwards as the bloody vacuum pipe stopped the bonnet from shutting. Me being me, closed the bonnet and made a upwards dent in the bonnet. How do I know this was going to happen, I'm not happy as to what i did to the bonnet. However, it has a nice whoosh sound when revving the motor as it sounds great. Vacuums No.1 and 2, I tried with no sound, it just didn't give that WHOOSH sound. It sound like a monster waking up, I love it. For those fitting these BOV's downwards guys and vacuum inlet no.3. Next thing I have to fix the dent, Cars !!!!!.
  2. If anyone can help, I've looked at Youtube, the internet and SAU on how to install this type of BOV and i'm not having much luck. I'm confused as to what connects to what. I have 3 outlet, one is at the base of the BOV where you connect straight onto the standard BOV. The 2nd connection is located on the body of the BOV which is near small holes for the exiting air and last connection (3rd) is at the top of the BOV were the nut is located for tightening. I would really appreciate some help in this area.
  3. In relation to imports, I had a look at this site: http://www.tradecarview.com/used_car/japan...?ps=25&so=2, It provides a shipping estimator and Freight courier. I looked at the Skylines, Wrx and Evo's which are resonably priced. I have no experience in this field and would like to know how much hoops do i have to jump to get this vehicle on the road in NSW ie RTA. Would i need engineers certificates or what ever cerificates ??????. Some nice Imports in Japan, what are your thoughts.
  4. Everyone who helped, I had another look & I NOW understand what this Cylinder/adapter thing is required to connect the POD filter (see pic). I need to remove the bottom part of my plastic box which has 4 bolts plus the wires and attach an adapter to the AFM for the POD to work. (would this be correct). What I was doing is taking away the whole box + the wires and attaching the POD with no wires and no AFM. Nothing easy
  5. Sorry guys, I'm now confused when you say "putting it on the shiny cylinder" I am actually replacing or taking a way the original box at the front on the engine bay and hooking up or replacing it with the Pod filter by inserting the tube that connects to the box. Is this incorect. Is their more to do !!!!!
  6. I've tried to replace my Box filter on my R33 Turbo with a Pod filter and she won't start, I get a single crank nothing more. I put back the old filter & she purrrrrs. All I have done to the vehicle is add a JCAR Air & Fuel adjuster, large intercooler, boosted to 11lb & goes very good. Any Ideas would be appreciated.
  7. Folks, Thanks on the advice, I think I know what the problem is now, I turned off the alarm with the key so it would not drive my neighbours crazy whilst I was gone, I will have to turn the alarm back on so that I know if it is actvated or not and then place my wifes new battery from NRMA and give it another try. The car is heavy to push so I can clutch start it. Thanks alot for the ideas people, great help.
  8. Hi people, I just returned after 3 months from overseas and the poor Skyline will not start, I can't even get it out of the drive way, I thought it was the batterry and I bought a new one and it still won't start. All it does is a tick, tick, tick noise from the front when i turn on the ignition, It won't even crank. Any clues/ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
  9. Thanks guys, You have been some help, but what I need is to install this Fuel Cut Defender to the factory ecu, I'm not sure which wire gos to the Map Sensor and to the ecu. I just want to increase boost. any ideas
  10. Hi Have you installed your fuel cut defender, I'm in the process of installing one "JAYCAR" and I'm trying to locate the wire that goes from the MAP sensor to the ECU. Could you help or can some one help by pointing out the Pin number for RB25DET ecu.
  11. Update, I received the manifold and took it to the manifold place and he laughed, he asked if I had an extra $1000 to install a top mount manifold because I would need new exhaust, oil and water lines to the turbo and it would be a head ache to install. He told me the manifold I have is ample so I re- sold the manifold at a loss, I’m not going down that path again. I saw my mechanic who took my car for a drive and adjusted the Jaycar fuel and air adjuster by road tunning the car, it goes allot better than before. Now all I need is a fuel cut defender so i can increase my boost. The skyline screams. Thank guys for your input. :sorcerer:
  12. I agree with you, but this guy who I won't name claims he does expensive cars and manifolds, no matter how expensive or cheap they are will crack within 12months and he guaranteed me it would happen. Driving like grandpa or unleashing hell pedal to the metal, the amount of heat generated by the turbo will eventually crack the pipes were the joints are welded. What come back do I have. Maybe others may want to put their 20c worth about expensive or cheap manifolds. CG
