hI Greenpool, I badly need an advice on how did ya sort this problem out,, im experincing the same in my V35 250GT,, what solved the issue,, thermostat and radiator/coolant flush fixed it? need a peace of mind here,, thanks!!!

Did my servicing in JLM last saturday,,everyone was friendly and warm,, mitzo did diagnostics for my cars engine coolant over heating problem, while i did only the general service(engine oil, oil filter, air filter), the guys told me to wait for a while before spening on thermostat and coolant flush, One other thing Adam quoted a price for thermostat change and coolant flush which was way more than quote price for the same work i go from pro concept ,pro works automotive,vimtech,, Plannig to do a trip to katoomba , >80 kms from my place to see how the radiator and engine heating holding up,,, if it agains overheated and coolant gets spurted out , i will then go for thermostat change as well as coolant bleed, this is my plan for now,, please lemme know in case im wrong

Hi Mate, I bought a skyline v35 250gt 2005 model clocked 75000 kms last week,, i experienced pretty much the same problem you had experienced aeround february this year.In one service station they said coolant flush should solve it and in other they said thermostat and coolant flush to be done and gave me a quote of 900$ .. please tell me what you ended up doing which solved the issue for you.. need an advice badly,, two days back when i was driving it got so heated up even smoke came a little bit piut of front bonnet and then the cooolant was spilled and fuming,,Is it the thermostat which is causing the problem.Thermostat change with a coolant bleed should solve it??

though irrelevant to this topic lemme go ahead and ask this,, im finding it difficult to get insurance quote for my car in YOUI,GIO,ALLIANZ,AAMI , guess mainly because its an import from japan, which insurance is best suited?? any tips

wow thanks all for the reply, ill be there first thing tomo morning,i just bought the car two days back, its gonna be my first servcing experience,im experiencing some engine heating up soon enough,, a mechanic told me its coz of less water in the radiator and coolant flush shd solve it, fingers crossed it shouldnt be a mjor problem,,also which is the best petrol for v35 250gt? im using shell v power at the moment

Hi All, Planning to buy an used 2005 skyline v35 250gt.Ive done the following things listed below already 1.Took the car for test drive,loved the interiors ,the solid ride,and the fabric seats, hate the leathers in used cars 2.The vehicle has clocked 73k for a 2005 model. 3.The vehicle was imported to nsw around 2009 and the current owner has bought it on 2011. 4.No dents /scratches outside,Paints are fine, not too flashy either. 5.Dint check under the hood. 6.Took vehicle history report and it is clean, but it reads "there have been 4 registered operators since registeration in NSW on 2009.does it mean there were 4 owners?but the current owner told me he bought it from a person on 2011 who has imported in 2009(by a importer) 7.the car has proper log manuals from japan as well as the recent ones 8.Got the PPSR done, came out clean as well. 9.Going to spend 70$ for vehicle inspection by an automotive centre 10.initially quoted 9300, but bargained to 8200, is the price right? Im still contemplating whether to buy it for this price, but totally fell in love with this car.Also i'd have spent have 100 bucks already when i do the vehicle inspection.Verry much confused,pls help out!!! appreciate the help.
