  1. Man that turbo looks about as big as mine. Lol. What model is that. Also other than holset what other inexpensive turbo do you suggest. Now if I read up right. I can buy the nistune board for the R33 and chip my C34 ecu.
  2. Thanks for the responses guys. I have never gotten so much attention at one time. Lol. Also it is going on a RB25det I got the idea from a guy on Youtube. I been running a VGtt so Im not too familiar with Rbs and what they use and do not use. VGs have those tiny turbos and when I saw this turbo going dirt cheap I just jumped on it and take a chance. I was trying to get a Holset Hx35 but everyone is after those now. Here is that video so all of you can get a good laugh. So on the ECU do I get the board for the Neo or R33. I was thinking that since I have the NEO style ecu I would have too get the board for it but use the R33 flash. On the exhaust should I go single or should I get a smaller pipe leading to the mufflers. The turbo is back up for sale I am trying to get a T70 or gt35.
  3. Hello guys I just recently got a sweet deal on a Garrett Gt42 turbo and I wanted to get you guys opinions on it and the setup I am trying to do. I was going for a holset hx35 or 40 but I got this one for about 100 less. So it seem like a very good deal. The specs on the turo are as listed. 100% Authentic Garrett GT42 turbocharger - Compressor A/R = .71 Turbine A/R = 1.28 - Compressor wheel Inducer dia = 64 mm - Compressor Inlet = 4 inch / Outlet = 2.75 inch - Turbine Inlet is a T6 flange / Outlet = 3.25 inch I.D. V-band So this turbo is going on a Z32 with 555cc sidefeed injectors FMIC Greddy Profec B Spec 2 EBC 3 inch exhaust split into dual exhaust with 5 inch tips z32 Maf Rear sump custom race oil pan As for the dowpipe I have found a few setups off a the Supra that look like they could work. If you look at the measurements posted on the first link that DP looks like it will work. I will probably go with the second one so I can use my own midpipes. I have no wedding skills and in my area no one does this type of fabicating so I figure I would grab something and make it work. So I want to use nistune. I cannot get a straigt answer to see if I am suppose to use the R33 flash or the R34 which I believe is for a Neo engine.   4. Hello guy I am back. I been collecting parts and getting stuff fabicated so I been gone for a while now. I been wondering about a few things that I could not get definite answer on. If I am using a rear sump pan can I use the stock mounts from a z31 or z32 to mount engine. Some say yes if I have a rear sump and other say no and I will need mounts from a 200zr. Also on the ecu. I have a harness and ecu out of a C34 stagea 97 and I wanted to use nistune. I was reading that I probably cannot use nistune because I connectors are for a r34 and my board is a r33. There was a guy on here asking that same question a few months back and some guy who sells nistune was going to look into it for him but there are no updates to the post in months. So can I just take the connector off of a r33 style ecu and repin my existing harness with that to match with either a r33 ro z32 ecu. There is not alot of info on this swap the way I have done it with the rear sump pan. Most here who have done it have done it by hacking up the car, custom mounts and etc. I am trying to do it with as little fab work as possible and I read with a rear sump pan I could. But I can no longer find the article or the listing I had for the guy who swap one before. I know that in a Z31 you can do it with a rear sump and 200zr or custom mounts and some say even the existing Z31 mounts, but I have seen others say you cannot. So all help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Also I have been to the RB300zx site and the majority of them are doing it with a front sump pan, custom mounts and crossmembers. So that site is no help to me as far as dropping it into the car.
  5. Hello guys what did you find out. I have the same issue myself right now. I wanted to get a Nistune setup but not sure if it will work on my board. Some suggested that since I still have my old z harness that I take the the blue end and rewire my c34 harness to match a normal R33 harness. So as we all know that is a lot of work but cheaper than buying a used harness for like 350. So your help would be greatly appreciated.
  6. LMAO yeah i am already hearing it from all my Z club friends most do not talk to me any more. lol. My plan is to get this up and running then get a RB30 block and build it up. Using the heads off of this engine I will have the infamous RB30. Now with that being the case even a VG owner would have to bow down. With a 3.0 running a fat turbo and inline 6 I will kill almost any street legal supra or Z32. lol I can get the block for like 450 shipped. So basically I want to get this up and running and by the spring I will start putting the RB30 in. That will be sweet. Oh does anyone know if a stagea has VTC or not.
  7. I already sold all from the Z. lol. I was going to use the Z ECU thinking I was going to get a r33 harness and loom. Instead I got a R34 style ecu and loom. So I cannot use the Z ecu now. So the engine is completely wired up all I have too do now is connect it to whatever is needed in the car itself.
  8. Hey I appreciate that I use too have that program. I love the charts and printouts. The main thing I am wondering is on the harness. Is the RB harness a one piece with cluster connectors and all or is it a two piece like the 300zx Z32. The Z32 have an engine harness for the engine, ac, mass air and consult port. Everything esle as far as the dash, fans, lights, fuel pump controller, steering assist, pwr brakes and all that are on the sub harness. I see a lot of connectors on this RB harness that makes me think it is a one piece harness.

  10. Sorry about typos up top I meant the oil sensor. On some of the RBs I have seen there is a oil pressure sensor on the oil tree next to the filter where is it on the stagea. Also since I got a oil pan out of the 200zr fitment should be no issue but its the harness. I cannot figure exactly where all the connection go and I also want AC. Anything special to wiring up the AC. On a Z the ac has a small connector that hooks into the main harness. Im not sure if the ac hooks into the harnesee on a Rb. Also the Z has two harnesses, one for the engine and one for everything else.
  11. Well I will try this again. Hello guys I am from the states and I am trying to put a rb25det in a 2+2 Z32 1991. Well before I get started and someone ask. Yes I have done the vgtt swap, three times, and all three times the engine were basically screwed. The first had lifter tick and locked up on a cold day. The second was done completely wrong by the mechanic and I scrap it. The third ran great until the white smoke started pouring out the drivers side, needed new rings. So after long debate and no success I said screw it and sold all my VG stuff and started over. Well since researching all I can you guys seem to be the RB kings. So I decided to join to soak in all your your knowledge. There are very few here who have put a RB in a 300zx and they are not much help at all. So my goal is only about 400 hp and be daily driver thats it. To start of my engine is out of a stagea which as we all know has a the same ecu as a R34. So I need some advice on that and just the basic on conversion. So here are my questions. 1. On the stagea harness there are some different connectors just above the ecu plugs. On a 300zx it has one of those plugs which contains the wiring for the consult, ignition, etc, but what is that other plug above next to that. 2. If I have a R34 style harness if I am using nistune do I use a version 4 board but the progam for a R33 rb25det. Its not a NEO so I guess I would have too use base RB25det. 3. How much Hp can I get with all stock running a greddy intake and 300zx maf 4. My oil tree does not have a oil tree on it or an oil cooler like some I have seen. Exactly where is the oil cooler on a stagea RB25det non-neo. 5. Finally if any one has some good pics showing the different parts of a stagea engine or pics of a Z32 with a rb swap it would be greatly appreciated. Wiring looks like the hardest thing now.
