That Carrum Downs dyno was reporting ~130kw from NA R31s, I really don't think it was accurate.

As for Asian dvd/vcd shops... I am unaware of any around me.
Quite a few in the city, particularly in the Russell/Lt Bourke St area.

Do you use the car mostly on the street? If so, having a minispool will make negotiating tight corners a bit more difficult due to the fact that the diff is basically "locked".
I can't really explain it in the best way, but someone else will give you a bit of a better explanation soon I reckon.

I live in Greensborough.
sktz (Red R34) lives somewhere around here, like Yallambie-ish or something I think.
I see a fair few R33's around the Greensborough/Bundoora area on a daily basis actually.

I HIGHLY encourage that you get at least one lesson before attempting the test. Regardless of how much experience you have, an instructor will pick up any bad habits you have and will tell you exactly how to pass the test. And if you get one locally, they'll familiarise you with the routes the assessors take. It might cost a bit more, but you'll have a considerably better chance of getting your P's. And because you're doing it in an R33 (that exceeds that power to weight ratio), you'll be scrutinised considerably by the assessor, just because it's an R33 and you're going for your P's in it.
It really depends on the assessor, which is why an instructor is good, because they usually know who the good assessors are.

Ok, here's another scenario..
On your P's but want a Skyline? Get an R31.
They respond really well to mods, and can be converted to turbo without too much hassle. I've driven my lowered R31 for 6 months now, not once pulled over. And I don't drive that calm and responsibly either.
Then as soon as you're off your P's, go out and buy that GTR you always wanted.

Area: East Melbourne
Location: Right lane heading east on Victoria Parade. Around Exhibition St/Latrobe St area.
Danger: Pavement on the right side of this lane is cracked and raised considerably. Have slammed my suspension on this one a number of times.
Solution: Stay out of the right lane.

As far as I know, the hook turn is there so you don't stop tram traffic that is travelling the same way as you.

See, if you turn like you normally would, you stop tram traffic from continuing on through the intersection, thus ****ing things up quite considerably. They sit there going "ding ding ding ding ding ding" .... etc until you move the **** out of the way.
