  1. won't comment on the company name. but it's from one of the bigger companies. mostly the cost is used to cover labour
  2. eternal condemnation to the cheap workshop who did a head gasket replacement on my car (from the previous previous owner apparently). now i'm starting to see oil in my coolant. coolant levels are going down. car doesn't overheat when its been driven unless the weather gets crazy hot. flushed it thrice but still seeing traces of it. tell me what do i do with my car now. 1. engine rebuild set me back by $10k or 2. just get the head gasket done professionally $4-6k wtffffffffffff
  3. thanks mike! however do you know of something like a long term protection and something that i can leave on my car? heard of 3M stone guard but not sure if anyone here does it. wouldn't wanna do it myself my pasting and peeling is bad.
  4. I was cruising along Mitchell freeway last night, pulled up at a gas station for a refill (weds are cheap fuel days) to my bloody horror I've got at least 50 stone chips on my front bumper.what a bloody bummer. didn't follow behind any vehicles and kept a safe speed limit. any others encountered the same situation? can anyone recommend repair places in perth ie cheap respray/touchup that i can get my paint back into good condition? also anyone tried using vinyl wraps to prevent stone chips? will upload pics later.
  5. i've got a question guys. im running on stock turbos. so i gather it shouldn't exceed .9bar however when i was taking the car out for a little fun earlier, i've accidentally revved it too much. the meter was stopped at 1kg/cm2 for about a second or two. so what's happening and will my turbos be damaged? what do you gather would be a safe kg/cm2 limit for this car?
  6. and also insurance is a bitch. always been with shannons but now they require me to have at least a year's exp driving a turbo car before they are willing to accept cover me. so i've gotta turn to just cars now.
  7. hey guys! my apologies for the late reply! pictures will be up at a later date because i'm so busy with stuffs now that i've yet to find time to wash this baby up. anyway i've got a 98 R33 GTR V-Spec S3. Everything is stock except for air intake (apexi twin pod CAI) and Nismo catback exhaust. inside the car i've got a blitz VIT type 2 and also a hks turbo timer. so what's next for the car... i guess a good tune because it's running damn rich right now. am lucky to hit 400kms on a full tank and also bloody baby driving. looking into getting a boost controller because it's stock boost i don't wanna screw up the ceramic piece. looking to keep the car as stock as possible. possibly may upgrade to a full HKS turbo kit but that's another story for another time. have got a hks bov inside the boot from the previous previous owner. just wondering if i should change it. shouldn't make much of a diff except for the sound i guess.
  8. am now a proud owner of a 98 R33 GTR V-Spec (:
  9. Moral of the story is never to play on the streets! haha. thanks for the advice mate. the other drivers can boo at me or what but i keep strong to what i believe in, never to do streets. maybe yes the occasional take off from the traffic lights but yeah, these crazy stunts can be left for track!
  10. Thanks alot for the input. Appreciate it much! Love the way you say. Need to put a smile on my face - go home, change cars. Exactly what I'm thinking. Prolly I'll get a 33GTR. and then get a cheap daily.
  11. IMO, 33gtr is quite a street warrior itself. anyway nice post you've got that WRRR! just a question for you. now that you've gone to the 33gtr route, will you ever hop onto a 34gtt? just curious
  12. WRRR: I feel you mate. Let's not mention about GTRs or the more expensive cars. Even a dent on the door on my 96 civic hatch or a slight bump beneath cos it's too low just leaves me in a fluster. and seriously, those idiots who can't open doors without slamming into the car beside, they ought to burn. i guess because i'm not working and i seldom use the car, a 33 gtr will be good for night drives or late night food hunting. only thing that stops me considering the r34 gtt is that the 33gtr is an awd and the other isn't. can't wait to own a skyline. im getting all hyped up just thinking about it. haha mate i get what you mean! indeed the gtrs are pocket burners. i'm still keeping my option open between these both until i find one thats all good and value for the price i get. may be going down to Marlyn Autos and around wangara this coming week to view a few new 34gtts in stock. until then, i will decide (:
  13. If i had the capital to invest in a r35 why not, who wouldn't anyways unless the person has got a greater passion for the earlier models. We can't compare it this way. it's more of a personal preference rather than what car with what mods will bring you how far. buddy, we will end up with a never ending argument if we compare it that way. and then again, i feel power isn't everything. skills is what that counts on the track and power is just a plus for the straights.
  14. yeah mate. that leads me to think that a R34 GT-T is also a pretty much impressive car. Yes I know it's a RWD and also there's less computers to manage every bit of the car. But what I'm thinking of is a daily warrior and also the occasional track days. BUT! I don't understand why so many people are against the idea of a GT-T. I mean in every sense, it's a pretty decent car to use on the streets (gets you from one traffic light to the other faster) haha. Oh wells. Honda is OUT (:
  15. hahaha. sure will see how it goes? i mean im truly interested in his gtr and i guess yeah! thanks alot! hope to see you rollin on the roads someday! (:
