  1. I have a set of white Nimso centre dials for an R33. I replaced the stock ones which only read to max 700mmHG (0.93 bar eqv) whereas the Nismos read to around 1.4 kg/cm2 which is just under 1.4bar. Now when I run the standard gauges I was showing just under 1 bar boost (expected) whereas with the white dials are showing around 1.4bar. My question therefore is are the boost sensors different as they both show the same physical position on the gauges but obviously one is considerably higher than the other.

    Any ideas? Thanks

  2. Could be that it's been in a crash and that's what it the lights were replaced with. I've seen a few 33s that have had front end damage and the lights replaced with new ones (sourced by the panel shop) and the replacement ones had the chrome surrounds.

This was my concern but no other signs I can see of damage, guess could have been a light impact. I'll get the guy doing my underside refresh to have a good look for me though.

  3. Thread revival! I want to change all hoses while the engine is out - just looked on JustJap and can't see this engine hose kits - does anybody know of a kit that is the same? Seem to be a few on ebay just not sure if they are the right ones?

    Something like this....

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SILICONE-Radiator-Heater-HOSE-fit-for-Nissan-skyline-GTR-R33-R34-RB26DET-BL-/281111064023?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4173866dd7

The JustJap sillicon engine hose kit ($299 + freight) contains 14 hoses, and 12 of them go under the plenum, a mixture of coolant and air hoses. The other 2 hoses go from the heater box on the passenger side of the firewall and back across behind the engine.

  4. Have just taken delivery of a new Garrett turbo and want to triple check that I have been sent the right thing. First of all the turbine housing outlet is wrong (4 bolt not a v-band) which is annoying. Anyway any ideas how I can check that the turbine housing is at least the right A/R?

You guys seem to know your turbos so thought I'd ask - looking for something to tell me it's a 0.82 A/R!

  5. Nice one mate, exactly what info I need. I don't have a splash tray on my car so should be fine. I am running 265/35's.

Can't think of any other wheel that will suit my skyline better, I have a Le Mans edition R33, hoping silver RPF1s look spot on.

Got any links to your car mate?

There are 3 people running this setup.

    Me
    Eat26
And a white 33 gtr on this forum.

They are the perfect size in my opinion. There is no need to roll guards, but my splash tray does scrub on full look.

  6. Anybody know where I can get a full set of new hoses for the RB26DETT? The engine is coming out and want to future proof it as much as possible so looking at replacing all the hoses. Slow process with Nissan over here so wondering if any of you guys have done this before and where you got the hoses from, any idea on price would be good as well. Happy to order from an Australian supplier as won't weigh too much and most Skyline parts are cheaper there.

    Cheers,

  7. What vacuum hose do you use on the RB26? I have been advised not to use the silicone hose as it can split but this is the only vacuum hose that seems to be sold - I guess I can use some 6mm ID fuel hose (AN4) but wondering what you guys use?

    Cheers,

  8. Out in the R33 on the weekend and car is behaving strangely - seems to be over boosting which is backed up by the stock boost gauge flicking up to over the max. Turbos sound like they are retaining too much boost until it gets to the point where they need to dump a load of excess boost almost like a leak or a last minute fail safe.

Any ideas what I should be checking? Assuming it's wastegate / actuator / vacuum line related and if so what is the best way to check?

    Cheers!
