Guys i did a search but couldnt find wat the
minimum disc rotor thickness is for a r33 gtst
could some one tell me wat it is for the front and back cos i want to check again before i get new ones. thanks
You could try having a look on DBA's web site www.dba.com.au
There is an online catalog with specs including normal and min thickness.
From memory for fronts only was 30mm normal, 28mm min.
I assume the dba specs would be the same as factory.

Slip.
Did you go the VN Rotors because the R32 Rotors wouldn't fit under the
calipers when bolted to the solid rear end.
And why did you have to go the VN handbrake, I assume that the R31
handbrake wouldn't connect to the r32 caliper stuff.
I am going to climb under the car tonight (r31 sedan) and have a good look see.
I was going to use r32 GTR or r33 gts-t stuff if possible.
I have 100mm spaced front struts. Aus Del GTS2
This may also be overkill for the street but I like good brakes.

Sorry I don't think I will be able to help.
But do the R32's use the caliper for the handbrake or a drum type setup.
Just making sure that you have the handbrake off...
I know what it is like to be in a big hurry and things not going well.
Sorry if this is just plain stupid

Well maybe we could work something out? You in Vic?
I wont need injectors/rail or anything else either. Just the motor and F'all ancilliaries
Not ECU either (i've got a chipped one BTW)
I'm not in Melbourne, but I dont mind a drive
We might be able to work something out.
Depends what sort of price that Blitz-Boy is looking for....

EDIT: You could keep a heap of stuff too.
I wont need turbo/plenum/intake piping/IC/ECU/Loom or anything.
Just motor/head and thats it.
Actually... series I or II motor?
I would be interested in the exhaust manifold, turbo, dump pipe incl oil and water lines etc.
Plus the associated piping to convert NA to turbo. IC incl oil and water lines
Plus the injectors.
And maybe the ECU.
Also Front rotors and calipers

Did anyone manage to find a copy of this.
I don't mind if it is in japanese. As I mainly want to trace wires.

Hi All
Fantastic thread......
I am considering creating one of these frankensteins for my R31 Skyline Sedan.
So most of it should be fairly straight forward.
1. Has anyone used an auto? What power levels can the Auto delivered in Aus
Series 3 Skylines handle (the 4 speed Electronic). What about the RB25DE Auto.
(p.s. Yes I can drive a manual thanks very much)
2. Cruise control, throttle cable. I can see that the throttle cable goes directly from the drivers side of the engine bay, on the R31 it loops around and comes
in from the passenger side, I have factory cruise control that comes in from the
passenger side also. Has anyone seen a R32 half cut with the cruise control solenoid and linkage on the throttle body.
3. Looms, I am going to use a R32 RB25DE Loom prob from a half cut, do the engine sensor>ECU part of the loom seperate reasonably easily from the rest of
the loom.
4. Insurance, as my car is currently NA I will have to let the insurance company
know that it will be turbo, (pretty obvious if they do an inspection). What
insurance companies are good with this sort of thing.
5. Turbo, the factory RB25DET Turbo may not last if you increase the boost too
much, what about other Import Turbos, say from a Supra or something, is there
something that will bolt on to a RB25DET exhaust manifold and offer a benefit.
I am only looking for arounf 200-240rwkw
Sorry for all the questions, but this is the most knowledge that I have seen in the
one place for a long time.

Min Rotor thickness
in Suspension, braking and tyres
Posted
Yes, the DBA catalog that most dealers have is incorrect, however I think they got it right with the online version.
It can be a little confusing when read though as the bolded number is actually the min thickness rather than the original thickness.
Anyways....
R33 GTST RB25DET Front 296 dia, 30 Ori, 28 min Rear 297 dia, 18 Ori, 16 min.
Still might be a good idea to check with Nissan, however I would trust these specs to be pretty close.
On some vehicles it does have the spec listed on the rotor itself, but I don't think the R33 does.
Good luck
