  1. Interesting backpedal. And you didn't even correct me on anything. What a pleasant improvement to your attitude.

I was purely questioning your rationale to hate LBJ because he changed teams, when so many other NBA super stars have done the same thing. Had you stated that you disliked him because of his personality, ego, the way he changed teams, there would have been no argument, but by your earlier rationale you hate a good proportion of NBA's playing roster.

No back pedal - People leave teams and change jobs for a number of reasons - as for LBJ leaving the Cavs, if it is still be talked about today that says a fair bit about what people think of his efforts. It is his attitude ( read chasing money and leaving his team in order to stroke his own ego with no thought of the other 11 guys on the roster) which is one of a few of the reasons I cant seem to like him, not solely for leaving his team.

As well as the volume of dick riders that seem to think he is the greatest ever whilst only having one ring to this point. Sure I agree he has racked up some pretty impressive numbers and awards so far, that's noteworthy, but to be amongst the greats he needs to do a whole lot more.

Ask me how I feel about him in ten years and it may be different.

If only the interwebs were around during the Magic/Bird era....

  2. Hmmm yeah, unless you know how to rewire plugs etc, its easiest to either buy a new 2nd hand wheel or restore it. If you search this section of the forum, you can find my thread about restoring steering wheels.

But I know guys on here have used an auto R34 steering wheel to control their audio..

Saw that thread, and actually plan on buying one of those kits shortly, yours worked out really well. Will use it to redye and refurbish my auto shifter too - cant see why that wouldn't work.

I am relatively handy with basic wiring stuff and a soldering iron. Playing around with air bags though is something I haven't done before. I simply prefer the look of that wheel, and having audio controls on the wheel would be cool so will try to find some more info on it and perhaps look at it doing down the track..

  3. So other players have chased cash over the last 40 odd years - that makes it right? LBJ did too - doesn't mean it was the right thing to do in my eyes, but I am not the one getting multi million dollar offers put to me. Lets not degenerate into a playground internet war about something that will still be argued about in decades to come.

As I said amazing player, but still cant like him. I felt the same about Kobe in his early years, and still think he has a big ego, perhaps too big and its held the Lakers back from even more success, although Kobe's achievement's have to leave him the top 5 of all time.

Keen to read Phil Jacksons book about Kobe v MJ.

  4. Mercenary? For going to another team? What is your opinion of Mello? Kidd? Nash? Howard? Kobe?

LBJ left to chase Money and stroke his rather large ego. Kobe played for who before the Lakers? Hornets traded him - blame them. Nash I love, and deserved to go to a team where he had a chance to retire with a ring, ask any true Suns fan, Howard was a role player and yes somewhat of a mercenary, Mello left to chase a ring, not money IMO. Nuggets weren't looking like they were able to make a good run at a ring at that stage. Sure the Knicks had cash to burn, but that also means they had the ability to buy players to make a run to the championship. Kidd is a journey man by trade, albeit an awesome one.

Got any other examples for me to correct you on?

  5. Gotta say I hope the Spurs win. Western Conference fan (Phoenix Fan - dont bag!) and still think LBJ is a merceranary for leaving the Cavs. Awesome talent, love watching him, but just dont like him.... yet.

Duncan and Co have the talent and ability to win, and the shooters, should go at least 6 games IMO. Hopefully as good of a series as the Eastern Conf Finals.

  6. Thread digging a bit, but I have a series 1.5 I think - four spoke steering wheel with airbag and passenger side airbag as well. Looks like this.

    Steeringwheel1.jpg

Wanting to install this steering wheel, possibly using the buttons to adjust stereo volume, answer phone calls through bluetooth, or adjust boost settings as i dont have cruise control and surely making my auto tiptronic to uses these would be financially unviable. A lil FnF I know (but a least I didnt say NOS!)

Now seems like the srs module, and HICAS is the main issue with swapping these wheels, it wont fit a series one, but will fit a series two it seems.

Found most of what I need after a search in this thread http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/147922-r34-steering-wheel-into-r33.html however not sure where the SRS unit is on a 1.5 and hoping someone might be able to tell me?

  7. Really hesitant about running HID's - obviously due to being defected, but I cant imagine the light spread is any good at all without a proper retrofit.

Could either or both of you post pics of the light output of your set ups? Keen to see how they look.

  8. Hey all.

Just turned to the dark side after being a Honda NA devotee.

I know Terry_GT-R34 from Prelude Australia, where I am a moderator. (You will know me as SnowWhiteLude!)

Still own 2 (soon to hopefully be 3) JDM Preludes, and now the proud owner of an imported auto R33. Think it may be a Type M, as has sunroof, and a few little differences, but hard to find a definitive list without trawling through 17 pages of info on the most common thread I hav found. There is loads of info on here though!

Trying to track down the differences between imports vs aus delivered at the moment, a few of the features on my new skyline have me puzzled,as well as how to spot certain upgrades like the lsd equipped in my vehicle, etc etc which I know can differ.

Wont be chasing any huge numbers, but looking at a few aesthetic mods such as front and rear bars, maybe a new bonnet, rims, and perhaps a suspension and sway/strut bar set up.

Hopefully will enjoy my time here and not tread on too many toes whilst I am in the teething phase of my time on SAU.

    Cheers.
