  1. Look into stuff before you post about it... think about it realistically. Can you afford all this???

A kit + paint will cost $2500 most times (fitted) remember that.

Hydros - pfft never heard of anyone who does them, most common thing is bags (thats like $5,000) right there.. can you afford that??

    Led neons - $500

    Carbon fibre bonnet - $1000 + GTR hinges $200

Decals good set $600 maybe more??

    Gt wing - $500 maybe??

and finally paint job.. minimum $4000 for a decent sort of job...

Now... can you really afford to get all of this done?? See when research + reality comes into it?? its good having a dream and if thats what you want go for it, but in the long run doing this will loose you alot of money, where you could go get wheels + exhaust + lower it and you will have a sweet ride.. have a think about it and how your resale would go... The car would cost atleast $28,000 to build.. and its still a GTS at the end of the day...

  2. While you're asking for advice...

I haven't noticed too many of your other posts, but if what's in this thread is indicative of your grasp of the English language, I'd highly recommend that you sell the Skyline, forget about the Silvia, and go back to school.

If you need a car for transportation (rather than just a big, shiny, penis extension), get an old Corolla and leave it stock. Rock solid, easy on petrol, cheap to insure and you won't get hassled by the cops.

    :werd: Im with you mate!!!!

  3. It should be his job to find them?? I'm sure you should be able to get another made, stating all the details that you need, as the cars already complianced these details should be avaliable at the RTA.

Anyway, shouldnt be your job to find them, make sure your panel beater does:)

When i rego'd my skyline, i was told i HAD to go to dickson because it was an import, but i didn't... all i did was go to a place in mitchel (pm me if you want the name) and they passed it no worries;) wrote me on a little peice of paper that it was road worthy for $25 or so, and went to the shop front and bang:) paid a nice amount of cash and she was registered:)

  7. Might add my input here because i have a GTS20 manual... the cars got a full exhaust, just been serviced, and has its timing advanced a fair bit (made a massive difference).

A mate from work has a VY series II s pack manual... and we can drive about the same.

I've ran him twice for argument sake, once before timing, and once after.

The first time i got creamed (6-7 car lengths) and i was running very poor, i then ran him again after timing, this time i was running fairly decent (still a bit cold but we both were) we raced twice off two different sets of lights, the first set was around a corner for take off and i got about 3 car lengths off the start but then he pulled it into about even after a few hundred meteres. The second set was on the straight but continued up a ramp which went around a corner, this one i had a car length off the start held it for a bit then he pulled it in and eventually pulled a length on me (over about 400m) but then once it came to the corner i ripped him badly (easy 10 lengths) because they just dont handle.

It was clear his car was faster in the straight, but not HEAPS faster, you could also tell that my car was definetly faster through the corners. Baring in mind i have a Rb20, not Rb25 and my car has an exhaust, lots more timing, also has brand new pedders suspension, including shocks, springs, and its got sway bars etc. + it had just been serviced, against a stock VY II s pack.

You should be looking for the over all package mate and what you can afford, not 'whats faster' because if its the corners you will be, but if its the straight you wont be. At the end of the day im happy with what ive got, and couldnt be any happier with it:)

  10. hey guys

i want to do this conversion on my car, however im not too sure on something.

I'll be getting a engine, box, loom and ecu and my father and uncle can do the conversion for me, however one part of it that we cannnot do is the re wiring of ecu.

the rb20e pin outs differ to the rb20det eg, wire 7 is for tacho on rb20det and wire 43 is for the tacho on the rb20e.

So is this a hard job to get changed over? would thet just re wire the wires to the harness?

Who in canberra can do this, and will it cost much?

    Thanks.

  11. Dayne: have just given quickfit one of the chrome mags off the soarer for them to fix, it has quite a bit of damage. It will cost $120 and will take about 1 week to come back. The guy we spoke to was up front as to what we can expect the mag to look like. A couple of little scratches on yours should be easier to fix then the state of ours. Good luck.

Sounds good, i'll pop in there and see them on tuesday.

  12. Well at INJEKTD in Canberra theyre $400 installed to any custom height i want..

I 'heard' you ring up and tell them how low you want it, and they make them and send them to your door for $354

If you want performance springs probably arnt the best i'd be going a whiteline kit, but because i want looks im going for just springs, though i've already had a complete new set of suspension go in (pedders) so it probably wont be 'too' bad

  13. My mate just got his car engineered after putting a forged 4g63 into his lancer sedan... so now its like a GSR mock up.

He didnt upgrade his brakes, and it still passed engineering easy... his car had gone from like 80kw NA engine to like 180kw turbocharged engine...

So its really 'if' you feel like doing it... you dont HAVE to do it like some people say if your only increasing its power by a little bit.

When the rb20det goes in mine, brakes wont be upgraded, because its not needed.
