Carroll Smith is a legendary race engineer who helped Alan Moffat back in the day. All his titles are great!

  2. Hi all,

Just wondering if someone can fill me in on the different types of front bars that seem to be around on R34 GTRs... I have seen this type which I guess is the standard type with no openings on the sides:

Also this type with a single opening/slot - is it Nismo?

And this type with two slots:

Do all GTRs come with the first type from factory or is there a difference with V Spec/NUR/Nismo editions?

  3. Due to the difficulties in bartering, money was invented to facilitate transactions like this..... :(

You sell your car for cash.... then you buy a GTR.

much easier than finding someone who a) has an R32 GTR they want to sell and b) wants an S13

    free bump anyway

  4. Simon, it is good to see someone brave enough to buy a car from interstate, I mean, all the problems of getting it registered and so on.. Take it for a blueslip, then take the blueslip/receipt/ to RTA, choose a number plate... Sure does sound tricky....

You forgot engineers certificate and the required emissions test.

  5. Yea heaps of R34s have been selling for under 50k lately, and some closer to or under $40k. Take a look on carsales, there are 14 right now for sale at < $50k.
