  1. Hi All,

    Located in Monash

For sale : R33 GTR gear box. (V-spec in case anyone cares)

Inspected and purchased through Trojan originally, paid about $1200 for it.

Hasn't been installed since purchase so it's in excellent condition. I just never got around to installing it.

    Inspection welcome.

Happy to post pics although I think we all know what a gear box looks like.

    Looking for $1000 for it.

    PM me with any inquiries.

    Cheers,

  3. Hi all and any,

I will try to explain as briefly as possible, I hope someone can help.

R33 GTR : Seems to loose all power intermittently, total cut (not firing at all) but picks up as if firing every now and then... if I keep my foot down on the accelerator in neutral or with clutch in when this is occurring it will rev and cut reaching anywhere around 2k.

It's not in limp mode as it WILL stall if I leave it to it's own devices, even that takes a few seconds as it struggles to stay alive.

If I baby the throttle for a minute or so the problem just goes away. This will happen pretty much every time I take the car out.

Some times when the car is cold others when the car is warm/hot, so I'm not thinking it's heat related.

the car has an impul ecu in it (just a remap), and is otherwise pretty stock. I haven't had a problem for the few years I've owned it and no modification has taken place in that time.

If anyone has any ideas or questions to help narrow in on the problem it would be really appreciated.

    Thanks,

  4. sounds like you haven't bridged the amp properly at this stage... unless you have and I didn't read it...

If you are running off ONE of the 2 channels you won't be pushing much power to the sub.

To fix if this is the case..

Use the possitive from one channel and the neg from the TOHER chennel... thus doubling the power and providing better response.

Let us know if this helps.

  5. Have seen a few commodors (not a dog, just what I've seen), slammed so hard at the back that they were making sparks on the ground everytime there was the slightest bump.

The problem with this is that on the VN in question from what I can tell the FUEL TANK is the lowest point of the car when it's angled back like that...

Sparks on road from fuel tank,,,, HUR DUR!!!

  6. Same thing happened to me a shile ago... we managed to change the hoses without taking the plenum off but it was hell...

The hoses in my case ran from below the back of the intak eplenum up and around the back of the head... little leak, but drained my whole engine of coolant and cooked my oil which may have had a lot to do with my bearing failure also. joy !

Don't drive it what ever you do.

and reach back behind the head you will find 2 water lines... follow them with your hand to see where they are joined.

Then fill the coolant up, turn the car on and feel again for water.

    Best of luck !!
