  1. Hi Poida....yeah meeting was during the day. It started off at Carest in Makuhari and then everyone moved to Daikoku. Most of the die hard fans left towards the evening to drive in convoy down to Central Circuit to meet with the Kansai 7s while the others moved to the PA in the middle of the Aqua Line

  2. At least it doesn't sound like there are very big queues to deal with.

I live in Ichikawa and I get a "free" parking space with my apartment and I pay for an additonal one. Used to pay 9,000 a month but just got it discounted to 7,000....not bad I think. I'd say that about 35-40 % of the places you will look at in the Funabashi area will have parking and 98% of those will be further out from the station/center. In Tokyo it can get really expensive, I've heard of 70,000 x month x car in the newer hi-rise buildings. That IMO is daylight robbery. Might as well go around to your fudosan, drop your pants, bend over and let him take you every which way he can LOL

  3. For anyone in Tokyo. A bunch of us foreigners usually meet up at the Daikoku PA every 2nd Wed of the month. If you fancy a chat with a bunch of car-crazy gaijins feel free to drop by. It will be pretty easy to spot us...just look for a group of lanky foreigners >_<

  4. Serves them right!! :nyaanyaa:

But I wonder what Sakai would say if a Chinese insulted him by saying that the Japanese couldn't even make up their own written language and had to nick characters from the Chinese:D Would be funny.

IMO...appreciate other people's cultures, but don't pretend like they could ever be part of you. Like all those Asian kids in the US that act like african-american brothers from the hood >_<

  5. Been in Japan since 1993. Lived here on-and off from 1996 to 2000 (during the time I was at uni in London) and permanently again from mid 2000. Lived in Tokyo then in Mito (Ibaraki-ken) and now back in Tokyo. I work as a car journalist and photographer and I'll be here for quite a bit

  6. I'm actually located in Japan....hence me organizing it for the UK GTROC.

The ER33 ones will be on sale shortly. They need to modify the BCNR33 ones sligtly to make them fit the ER33s.

There is no hurry on this BTW. I'll give it some time in order to get as many names as possible.

We have 9 people interested so far. I'll post this up on the SDU forum too and see if we can get some more to join. Basically if you are interested add your name like they have done over in the UK. Like this:

    -------

    -------

    1.name

    2.name

    3....

    4

    and so on.

  7. Hey! I'm currently organizing a group buy of bonnet dampers for the UK Skyline register.

Thought I might ask here at SAU if anyone downunder is interested in joining in. Basically more orders equals better prices.

    Here is the original thread

They also make them for the following cars:

    Honda:

    - EK4/5/9 Civic

    - DC2/DC5 Integra

    - AP1 S2000

    - Jazz/Fit

    Subaru:

    - GC/GF/GD/GG and new GDBF Impreza

    - All 3 gens of Forester

    - New/Old Legacy

    Mazda:

    - FD3S RX-7

    - RX8

    - NB6C/NB8C Roadster/MX-5

If anyone might be interested please let me know :D

  8. yea right, thanks. yep hokkaido powder is insane. am just back from a trip up there. can't compare it to niigata but it's a world different from nagano, well worth the extra expense. an aussie dude bought some lifts at one of the biggest resorts up there called Niseko 2 years ago so there are heaps of aussies heading up there these days.

You guys should check out Zao in Yamagata-ken. Been going there for the last ten years. Great slopes, too much snow as usual. Hokkaido is superb too, but only been to Sahoro. Reminded me of European slopes

  9. I've been looking at places in Tokyo for the last 2 months. 80,000 won't get you much over 30m2...if you want to live somewhere nice, with decent space in a modern apartment you should be looking at no less than 150,000 a month....add 30,000 for car space + more for utilities. This is the reason I've decided to look outside the city itself. You can pay 100,000 a month and live in a decently sized apartment...stretch a bit more and you might find a small house in say Chiba (40 min train commute). Tsukuba is worth a look too. With the new Tsukuba Express you are in Tokyo in 40 min and prices out there are pretty good. If you want to live comfortably in Tokyo with a car you really need at least 1,000,000 Yen a month saliry. I mean you have to factor in modifying costs....oh yeah..and food too;)

DDave...so what insurance company do you use then? I pay slightly more for the GTR....but wouldn't mind shopping around for a better deal!
