Thanks PranK Also thanks again to the forum I found a good Nissan guy in Brisbane to check out my proposed purchase for me. This is a great resource. I just got a good laugh out of the Edward Lees thread too. I shouldn't laugh too hard, I just bought an old Pajero privately, after I handed over the cash the seller mentioned he'd just crossed the Simpson Desert in it. Over the next few weeks I found most of the Simpson Desert in bits of the vehicle, but stopped looking when the transmission died and now the camshaft has done something special. Luckily I found a great bloke who lives and breathes Pajeros who has looked after me with parts and labour - it could have been a lot worse. But that whole rushed stupid experience reminded me how important it is to research and have experts look before you hand over the cash. This V36 purchase is to reward myself for being a d**khead before I guess!

Hey all Thanks to this forum I know a lot more about Skylines than I did a fortnight ago. I was originally looking for a Ford XR6 (till I drove one!), then a Toyota Aurion for the build quality, till I came across the 350/370GT V36 sedan. In the same price bracket, a helluva lot more car than those I mentioned I need 4 doors, prefer auto, and am at a ripe old age I figure I deserve at least some spoiling. Test driving a couple this week with a view to buying asap. Thanks to the info from this forum I know to avoid the CVT transmission, look for evidence of wear on seats and pedals etc, and I figure I'll get the chosen one up on a hoist to give it a good look over.
