Hmm.. piggy back adjustment to change the tps input signal < output ?
-
Watched the mighty car mods episode 12 of the double unicorn build. It touched base about the throttle restriction due to the atessa system in the wc's. I wonder if it's the same for us as we use that system? It was along the lines of g sensor and voltage sending info to the atessa which would tell the ecu how much power to send to the tranny etc..
-
Gasketgooed it upon installation to tack it in place and ensured flat seal all round. Il find out when I pull it out again. Will upgrade other stuff while I'm at it. Really wanna finish my harness /loom for the EMU...
-
Nooo.... I already replaced it once.. ughhhhhh the first time it was leaking in a different place haha.
-
I took the undertray off and the oil return (under turbo) isn't leaking. It looks like it's possibly near the top (just above turbo?) as there was a bit of fresh oil there..
-
Religious oil and filter change.. found an oil leak somewhere in the turbo vicinity below rocker cover but above boots.. *sigh*
-
What's your jumper settings if you don't mind me asking? Also out of curiosity did you guys use a harness or just splice tap straight to the unit. I have a uni-harness cable that's like 2 metres that I'm cutting down..
-
Does CEL pop up with an emanage hooked up..?
Is the daughter board separate normally?
Also- what did you use your analogue output for?
If we tapped that into the throttle position, would it be possible to open loop that so the brake cut mod wouldn't be required?
Just throwing ideas.

Bless you Matt- BoostdR. So helpful!

Emanage ultimate finally in my hands. Soon to be installed. To modify my previous post, anyone know the part numbers to the loom plugs to the ecu to make a harness?
Thanks in advance
-
Looking at the Emanage ultimate. It's set up for a 3sge at the moment. Am I able to plug to the laptop and upload a stagea map/ setup quite easily?

oh FFS, i'd finally settled on an MCA suspension because I couldn't replicate stock height with the BC's and then you all go and confuse the issue with your 'opinions' and stuff. WTF is this, a forum?
So in summary, going stock and replacing my shocks with OEM shocks will cost like 1200 (front and back) so they're out, BC's are out because they're too low at the back, MCA's are out because they're potentially unsafe and I need to have the car registered in VIC so it's going through the pits.
there's gotta be an easier way...
They sell spring platforms or spacers to raise the springs for bCs don't they?
I think it's just having everyone's best interests at heart. Can always resell..
-
Gives more accurate toe adjustment rather than slotting the subframe.
Thought this was pretty cool if you want to keep the separate spring and shock.
Yup that one works out much better. Maintaining the oem points but allowing adjustability.
To compare which works better (coil over vs oem) the next is to find what the oem spring sits below.. chassis support rail etc
-
Just looked at the difference. The spring sits on the platform that attaches to the rear end of the brake hub. The modified version uses an adjustable brace? Wouldn't that need to be certified as you're changing the design engineering of the suspension? I.e there's no downward support for where it used to sit?
Just curious- Please entertain the thought process in this

Suspension: Featuring a new multi-link rear suspension designed specifically for wagon application
The new Stagea employs four wheel multi-link suspension and realizes superior handling, stability and ride comfort.
Its rear suspension is a newly developed multi-link rear suspension that has the coil springs mounted separately from the shock absorbers and lowers the upper attachment position of the shock absorbers by 270 mm compared with the suspension on the previous model. As a result, this dedicated wagon suspension minimizes intrusions into the luggage area.
Ripple-control shock absorbers are used to isolate the transmission of minute vibrations from the road surface for improved tire-road contact.
*Still can't find the type of multi link system explanation

Thanks for clearing that up Daleo. Slightly off topic. Why would they sell different kits to cater for the 4wd compared to the rwd? Added weight of attEsa system?
-
Just out of clarity (until I can find the actual reason/ information) m35 rwd is different suspension than the m35 4wd yes?
But the chassis is pretty much the same minus the subframe?
-
So there was a write up to the changes to the stagea model and the reasons behind why they relocated the springs the way they have.
It went something along the lines that the ability to separate springs to the shocks was to allow the cargo compartment not to be hindered by higher strut towers and the ability to displace the load under stress. I may be wrong in my understanding but would it also mean the design of a shock and spring system wouldn't allow enough rebound or loading of the compartment?

-
That's gonna add to the write off amount...
-
I grieve for you.. buy it back and sell off the parts or put towards another stag?
-
Context is more along the lines of having a daily driven than chasing powaaah. Velocity stack on end of turbo ftw then.Good lucking pushing over 200kw without swapping the lower intake pipe. Where with an after market one you can push over 300 so I think it is rather restrictive
Ps found the link to the 2009 post and no. Haven't removed that part yet.

It's a shame that it doesn't fix the actual part of the intake that causes all the restriction.
It's barely a restriction though. Think of those whale pen15 intakes on Hondas. It still only goes to the throttle body inlet size.. same goes with the turbo inlet... it's only gonna suck what it can spool... if that makes sense. It's more on the compression side that it really matters

Turbosmart or gfb respons... I can easily get no chatter or jerking but it means the valve doesn't seal the moment there is positive pressure. Borderline still leaking thru the recirc...
If I wanted to be a dick, i'd just open the port to vent 100%recirc and 5% atmosphere and it'll stop altogether without having to adjust it to that 'leak' point.
