How worn are your pads and rotors ?
-
Shannons were easy to work with and the premium seems reasonable to me, BUT I've never had to claim with them.
I'm currently with NRMA , and my current policy expires in July next year .
The fella on the phone (NRMA) said that if my policy is to be axed I'll get six weeks notice .
So I got a quote from Shannon's ....
They were pleasant to deal with on the phone , but basically my premium will double and so will my excess for the same amount of coverage .
But I'm not stressing about paying an extra $500 a year .
If it's the price we have to pay to drive such great vehicles , so be it ! -
Could be anything , but I'd say they're the guts from your lifters .
As for small lol ... They are more like meteorites !
Bet you wished you'd changed your oil more regularly !
Good luck .

Thanks for advising. If this is the case where can I locate new clips as I want the car to retain its originality. Are these clips readily available and where could I purchase some??
Cheers
ROB
Kudos Motorsport sell genuine bonnet lining retaining clips if you need more . -
Yeah just use a clip removal tool .
It's inevitable that some clips will break due to their age .
Just cover your engine with a drop sheet as when I removed mine crap fell down everywhere ! -

I wouldn't use the stuff...
Last week the heater in my Hilux wasn't blowing hot air ( just warm ) .
Popped into my mechanic on the way home , top radiator hose was soft ( no pressure ).
Turned out to be a dodgy radiator cap not pressurising the system , hence the heater wasn't blowing hot air !
Need pressure ! -
Its an N/A GT-V and its recently started to do this. Fluid looked very dark so I dumped the reservoir, refilled and bled with no change. Could it just be worn out fluid causing the issue?
Yes ....
I changed out the fluid in the reservoir 3 times over the space of a few months ...
Fluid is still red 12 months later and only get minimal boiling even when it's 40+ degrees
It's just the heat from the exhaust side of the engine cooking the fluid . -
It's the heat from your turbo that's boiling the power steering fluid .
Mine was doing the same , my fluid was brownish in colour due to being over cooked .
I just drained the reservoir and replaced with fresh fluid ...all good now . -
Um, trace the loom to the other end of the wrapping?
Yeah will do when it's on the hoist ...
Cheers -
Yeah the tranny was drained about a month ago then topped up ...have cleaned the connection on the grey plug with brake cleaner 3 times and fluid is still being forced out of the pins ...I'll get a second opinion from the Auto Trans guys tomorrow and see what they say ...
Thanks mate -
Definatly not power steering fluid as the rack and the pump are clean as , just getting drips coming out of the harness.
Just checked the dipstick on the gearbox and it's way over the cold mark ( car is cold) so that could be half the issue ?
I'll take it to a Trans specialist tomorrow and report the findings !
I'll keep on searching what the grey plug is for ...the black plug and red plug in the pic are dry when disconnected.
Thanks for your time ! -
Hi Duncan , thanks for your reply .
It's 2wd /auto . Rb25det Neo . it's definitely auto Trans fluid being pushed up the harness (capillary action).
When the grey plug is disconnected the car runs just like normal with no lights popping up on the dash .
My mechanic isn't too keen on problem solving the issue , so it looks like I'll have to book it into an Auto Trans specialist .
Cheers -
Anyone ???
