US short ton is 2000lb, which is 907.44 kg.
I've always cynically thought that the half ton rating on these trucks was inside the cabin. ?
That’s actually pretty funny with the fat asses we have in our country.

Truthfully the modern day 1/2, 3/4 & 1 ton designation is, at best, bullshit. My truck is rated to carry 2130 lbs (or 966) Typically a “1/2 ton truck” has standard axles, transmission and doesn’t have Diesel engines; until the last few years that is. The vast majority of trucks sold in the USA are 1/2 ton trucks and most will never be used to their potential.
“3/4 ton” trucks have a larger frame, have larger engines/transmissions and can haul/tow exponentially more stuff. The “1 ton” trucks are rated to haul/tow even more and can be configured with dual rear wheels.
Hope that clears it up some lol

Welcome American!
I'm not necessarily a Ford guy, buy I do like that truck! Would that be considered full size? We've only started getting full size trucks in the last year or so.
Yes sir! My F150, in that particular configuration, is consider a “Super Crew” and is a 1/2 ton. It’s powered by the 5.0 Coyote and has a 6 speed auto. Actually fairly quick for its size.

Hello, I’m Josef from southern Louisiana in the good ol’ warped USA. I’ve always been a Ford guy and likely always will be. I’ve had a lust for a nice boat (or maybe a R32) since the late 1990’s and I think it’s time to find one.
I’m here to read through old threads, soak up information about this platform and, hopefully, not ask too many stupid questions.
Im sure there’s a FAQ or typical noob questions thread around here somewhere..
Greetings from California!
