  1. Hi all Just dropping in to remind you that Drag Combat is coming back to Perth's Quit Motorplex on April 23. Hope to see as many as possible having a go down the quarter-mile. Any questions send 'em to [email protected]
  2. Media Release February 7, 2005 On February 4th the Cabin Group announced the alignment of the Drag Combat series with ANDRA’s Sport Compact division. 2004 was an exciting time for the Cabin Group with the official launch of their Drag Combat championship. The series was held over four events in three states and featured outstanding racing action over the quarter mile. In addition to the many new Australasian records, Drag Combat also presented national television coverage for sport compact drag racing and secured naming rights sponsorship with BFGoodrich Tires. “We had a huge year in 2004 and were very proud of our achievements”, said Drag Combat manager John Baremans. ”While we started out with a clean sheet of paper and designed rules and classes specifically for Drag Combat, we knew that the only way to move forward was to align ourselves with ANDRA Sport Compact. “We are looking forward to supporting sport compact drag racing in Australia and watching it grow to the levels we know it can achieve. I believe in ‘united we stand, divided we fall’ and more support for ANDRA Sport Compact will result in a superior product for racers and fans alike.” “Our up and coming Perth and Sydney events will utilize all the rules and classes of ANDRA Sport Compact, as well as special brackets for late model street bikes and late model Aussie muscle in Holden vs Ford. We are looking forward to future events becoming part of the ANDRA Sport Compact Championship which is planned to start later this year. “This decision by the Cabin Group opens up an immense amount of new opportunities for the Australian Sport Compact racer, and ANDRA is very happy with this new alliance,” said Sport Compact Director Jason O’Halloran. John Baremans concluded, “Drag Combat is now strapped in and ready to hang on for what should be a very fast ride.
