    here's a thought ... go to your workshop and ask them what's required to make your car legal.

    a few dollars spent before hand will save alot of hassle later.

    skylines and imports will always get targeted - it comes with the car.

    i was recently required to take my car for a QT inspection under s36 of the transport roas use managment act.

    they sent me a letter in the mail to enforce this - i was not pulled over.

    if QT or QPS have a reasonable belief your car does not comply they can do the same to you.

    there are plenty of heavily modified rides that are legal

    i run a sard lower temp thermostat in my 34gtt (amongst also an oil cooler and thicker radiator).

    do some dyno runs on your car and see what results u get at different operating temperatures;

    i found 80's were fine but once in 90's i was losing noticable power.

    car now runs 70's - 80's in most conditions thus when i want/use the power (and the engine gets hotter)...

    i don't loose that power as a result :)

    what a waste of time. this thread is like asking which colour is best.

    black ??? ... i wish mine was black sometimes ....

    i best say silver in case she hears...

    SILVER.

    nothing has more road presence than the r34 GTR.

    the gtt is still a 34 :D ... but no GTR :)

    i think the r33 gtst is the vl of yesteryear and in another 10 years time it will be the xr6turbo.

    i feel sorry for r33 GTRs cuz they get mistaken for gtst's but otherwise are best priced for condition.

    nothing can give the same bang for buck as a 32 GTR. (shame it'll need fixing)

    they have a rough primal appeal that cannot be matched.

    and the 32 gtst is a 6 cylinder silvia. (the only 32-34 skyline i don't think i'd consider buying)

    the v35 is a 2+2 350z but the z's look better.

    the v36 has mercedes headlights.

    and my personal favorate - the GTR PROTO which is not infact being labled a skyline.

    have a flick through Rb25 Turbo Upgrade, All Dyno Results might give u a better idea different results people are getting with different turbos.

    i run a garret t3076r which is a lowmount with internal wastegate.

    i find it to be pretty responsive however other bits n pieces will need upgrading to make the most of it. (am aiming at 1.4 bar)

    if you only plan to run 1bar however you may get away without some of that.

    i'd have a chat to some workshops and get their opinions then do some research based from their recomendations.

    ultimately the more honest you are with what u want from it in the first place the less dissapointed you will be in the long run.

    I am happy to be corrected if wrong but I was of the understanding turbo timers are illegal to use as a vehicle isn't to run without having the keys in the ignition and the driver in control...

    ahh but does this extend to within ur home or a private premise?

    (as in your garage/carport or place of business is not a public place)

    i wouldn't think so.

    If you could prove that it was still limited to 180 and it was an acurate limit then you might be able to question the accuracy of the radar. Just a thought.

    A Stock SS will beat any lighty modified Skyline, let alone the SS' commodores with Tunes pushing 240rwkw.

    i really have to wonder why the judge would susspend/disqualify his licence and not impose huge fine and/or minor time...

    losing it before obviously didn't have an effect on you in the past.

    driving is a privilage, not a right; and getting caught is meant to give you that reality check...

    This isn't my first offence for speeding, i have lost license 3 times b4, and now this would be the 4th time.

    This is my second major offence, as my first was driving whilst suspended.

    I am only 19 years old too.

    I just got my license back 2 months ago too... after losing for 18 months.

    I have lost my license all up for 21 months in total.
    considering these were the following threads that you started:
    Only lost my license once, for speeding previously, for 6 months.

    Are you all serious about Jail Time?

    man i hope u are taking this seriously - cuz it doesn't seem like u are - get used to walking ... oddly ...

    i'm sure everyone agrees at 19 and such a record ... but

    he know's he's fuct but doesn't know how deep and if he hasn't learnt now then i'm sure he's about to.

    so has anyone on here experienced something similar that can give the man boy been there genuine advice?... not me.

    sell the car (or change ownership) -

    see a laywer -

    see a doctor/psych about strategies to dealing with adrenaline/speed adiction ???

    get some bus or train timetable -

    write a stat dec to express...

    ur remorse/apology etc,

    u've sold / given ur car away

    seen a lawyer

    seen a doctor

    got some public transport info

    and not going to be a further risk on public roads

    get a haircut and a suit be apologetic and accept what u get - yes sir's no sirs' thank u ur worship.

    u won't be driving again anytime soon - DON'T BE DRIVING AGAIN ANYTIME SOON!!!

    as in you tried to hide in traffic or exited and they found u or like code 5 chase on need for speed ?

    they've got u pretty bad to start with ...

    what u did after the lights came on goes to character and may impact on what happens.

    talk to ur lawyer etc obviously ... are they going just for speeding though ?

    (speeding/dangerous driving/faliure to.../driving in a manour.../hooning/etc etc???)

    goto whatever your local tyre shop is and have a chat to them...

    (don't buy whatever they try and sell you straight up)

    you mentioned you had 17" rims?

    the width of the rims will play a large part in what width tyre you can run

    as well as the offset/s as to where the rim/tyre is positioned within the guards.

    i believe 9" is the minimum wheel width for 275's.

    quality of tyre is just as if not more important than width though.

    if u look at what u need the car for and what u want to do with it then a tyre shop can get u started.

    after that do some research on net and take a look at the sticky in susspension, braking and tyres.

    nismo wingmounts for gtt factory wing -

    looked into them a long time ago but genuine ones are too expensive -

    ie more than an aftermarket full adjustable wing with c/f top etc.

    various places sell fiberglass copies that are not as strong and IMO a bit lame,

    a agree ... they look awesome!!!

    and they won't get asmuch cop attention as a full adjustable aftermarket item.

    although what modded r34 doesn't get cop attention ???
